    Pros

Upbeat work environment, supervisors were great to work with, they actually cared about what you had to say or suggestions for improvement. Benefits are great. Co-workers were great as well. The culture and values the company had before being bought by Amazon was great, it was a very family friendly company.

    Cons

Was bought out by Amazon, long hours with almost impossible goals to reach, the morale became very down and most people didn't want to be there anymore.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make your employees feel important, without them you wouldn't be in business.

Not horrible, but it is changing.

I worked at Quidsi full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

The training for a Customer Care Associate was in depth, which is a good thing to make sure you understand what the company is about and all the tools you need to be successful. You were given the freedom to handle customers inquiries how you felt necessary. Given that this was an e-commerce business you needed to keep up with how frequently things changed. With that being said training is consistently being provided to make sure every one is up to date on those changes.

    Cons

When I first started working there it felt very free and open and they made you feel like it was a "hip" place to work. Since Amazon bought out Quidsi I felt like some of the cool aspects of this company were slowly fading. It is not what it used to be but they are still trying to cover that up with an icing of free coffee, snacks, and happy hour to make it look that way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the point system and the system on how you grade agents. Stop making up rules as you go along because it is crippling the positive image Quidsi once had

    Pros

Given a lot of responsibility very quickly. You have a job title will end up having your hands in many different functions. Running small business within each site with a lot of autonomy. Fairly easy to make your opinion heard and make a difference.

    Cons

Having a hard time finding their identity as a company. Foundation as an e-commerce company is a little shaky because it was built by MBAs, not retail leaders/experts. There is a lot of work happening to transform the websites into shopping destinations but some goals are too lofty and they need to focus on the basics first. While good to have a lot of responsibility, the reason it is given is that there is a constant bandwidth issue where there aren't enough people to do the work as it should be done/to meet such lofty goals.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fix the retail fundamentals, figure out who you are and who your customer is, and focus on building a strong foundation before launching big projects without the proper support.

    Pros

They're trying, or at least employee services is.

    Cons

The CEO really needs to take a look at management and senior management in CC. There is a reason it has been so bad for so long with such a high turnover. Maybe the problem isn't the employees or staff who have left. Maybe the mistake was hiring/keeping the current management in there for so long. Where is their employee review?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be there and lead.

    Be prepared for micromanagement
Office politics has negative impact on teams
    negative Work environment

I worked at Quidsi full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Lots of autonomy, even for entry level associates
    Great ecomm learning experience
Comfortable office (really no dress code) with lots of free food
Most people are very nice, motivated, intelligent, generally pleasant to work with
    Good pay and benefits
Experience of working for "an Amazon company"

    Cons

Anyone who's ever even CONSIDERED for a promotion has to work minimum 50hr weeks, and be sure to kiss up to the right people while doing so
In-house systems are always breaking and often poorly managed, and cannot support the level of performance we're held to
Constantly overwhelming amount of emails and meetings
    Completely unrealistic internal deadlines
Senior management doesn't listen to the people below them

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to your employees - at every level - and act upon what you gather
Continue to support an entrepreneurial culture
Have a little more respect for others' desire to achieve some level of work-life balance
