    I worked at Qualcomm

    Pros

Very smart and focused people to work with.
Lots of resources available for research, professional development, etc.
Very open and enjoyable environment to work in.

    Cons

Work life balance is very poor during "crunch" times and could be improved in general.
Work hours and work load is highly team dependent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management is doing well in its attempts to accomodate to the needs of employees, but it should communicate with employees even more effectively.

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Qualcomm in general has a strong culture and genuinely seems to care about its employees. They provide a lot of opportunities for development, and good compensation, especially for strong performers.

    Cons

Perhaps this is typical of large companies, but they need to look at trimming the fat in mid management levels. There are too many people with minimal contributions who have their position merely because of seniority and playing political games. On the positive side, it seems like efforts are being made in this area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trim the fat, and make sure to take care of your best people.

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Qualcomm is one the best companies to work for. The salary is above national average and Qualcomm is one of the high paying companies. The benefits are really awesome, you get full health care coverage with very little copay.

If you are ambitious and hard working, Qualcomm is really good company to start your career and move forward.

    Cons

Sometimes the work gets hectic. Salary although high and Qualcomm is among best paying companies, it still not as high as compared to other giants like Google or Microsoft. Hence Qualcomm may have issues in retaining talent.

Bonuses and stocks are given to employees but again they could be much higher.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If Qualcomm wants to.retain their top talent they should really start paying their top performing engineer higher salary so they are not tempted by offers from other companies and also give much higher bonuses and stock grants.
