I have been working at Prudential plc

    Pros

Westernized management style, flexible and with aim to serve business depts well. Regional office is expanding

    Cons

Pretend to encourage internal mobility but not the reality. In Asia countries are silo, not really willing to groom talents with a common goal

I worked at Prudential plc full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great management, good people, nice work culture. Great experience with the company, I learnt a lot from the management. I was on the Islamic insurance side and felt that the management was fair and always had an open door policy, I could go to them for anything.

    Cons

Bonuses are not so great, but hey everything else is really good so there is not much of room for complaint. I feel that perhaps there could be more personalized training for employers, and of course there is your usual office politics but nothing that can't be handled.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Great job so far, if i had an advice is for more internal promotions and trainings as well as better bonuses

I have been working at Prudential plc full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

None if you end up in a department running under the old boy network.

    Cons

I am continually amazed by the old fashioned pecking order in existence here, where insufficient toadying and imagined slights are seized upon and petty revenge plotted.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upgrade to modern, dynamic leaders with people skills who are too productively busy to spend time sulking and plotting over their expensive lunches on expenses.

I worked at Prudential plc as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

Good location. Interesting technologies. was able to learn a lot pursuing my own avenues here and got involved in some project work that was interesting.

    Cons

End users dictate IT policies. Leadership was utterly subservient to end users, meaning that all good practise was abandoned in order to accommodate senior end user's demands. Corner cutting (as dictated by the business) meant that the finished infrastructure was unfit for purpose.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get IT leadership that will stand up to users and make sensible engineering decisions. Be firmer with permanent employees that are causing problems.

I have been working at Prudential plc

    Pros

Competitive financial packages and investment in staff. A large company which allows employees room to develop or change their skill set.

    Cons

A blind eye is turned to senior managers who enjoy bullying, intimidatory tactics. Work / life balance is dismal in these areas and stress levels very high.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Closer attention to, and zero tolerance of, areas where bullying and hierarchical rule is routine. Let's protect Pru 's good name.

I worked at Prudential plc full-time

    Pros

Flexible employer who is fair but demands their pound of flesh. Good staff relations and excellent benefits.

    Cons

It can be very political at senior levels and is a lot more ruthless at these levels. Heavily regulated which can be frustrating at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

remove some of the politics. Encourage people to do the best for the company not what is just right for them.

I have been working at Prudential plc full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good Company values, some great people, they invest in their people's training and they have a good renumeration scheme.

    Cons

Quality of management can be inconsistent, work life balance can also easily start to erode.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get the performance management system working properly, should be a fantastic incentive for staff, it's not, it's a chore. Get rid of poor performers, no matter their seniority, quickly.
