I have been working at PepsiCo full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good pay and good benefits

    Cons

Working in extreme weather conditions without a/c or heat
Eventually wears your body and mind
If you work out of a bin prepared to be ignored
Upper management that only cares about the bottom line and making themselves look good
NO work/family balance unless you have a primo route
Long working days unless you are a slacker and let others do your work
Lots of "talk"but very little action
At the end of the day the company really doesn't care about you
Long days, work every holiday, work every weekend
Too much work to get done in one day

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get on a truck or visit a bin in the middle of summer or dead of winter. Talk to your employees and listen to their needs. Not just with surveys but person to person. Let them feel like the tons of hours they put in or all the holidays they have given up or all the kids sporting events they coukdnt attend was actually worth it or appreciated. Promote based on merit and job preformance NOT on senority. SOmany people take atvantage of this and it promotes hostility in the workplace!

Very friendly and supportive management, learnt skill sets in Nielsen and Essbase, got an opportunity to network with the marketing division

    Cons

very hierarchical, work may get routine and boring

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

stronger role to be played by the HR department in helping build a great learning environment during the internship, help integrate internship with full-time opportunities down the line...

I have been working at PepsiCo as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

None that can think of ! Is a no star rating possible

    Cons

Frito lay will destroy you if possible, the only ones treated worse than lower management are the hourly employees on the floor but at least they are unionized and receive better pay and benefits.Frito lay cares little about their employees and less about thier employees lives, Corporate greed at its best.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

what comes around goes around you will all be judged for your actions and the famlies you destroy with cut backs and job eliminations. Most of you could not manage a one man solitare tournament. Learn some people skills and find some morals.

I worked at PepsiCo full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Top Notch Brands that are Fun!
    - Great Benefits.
    - Solid Training and Development.
    - Exceptional Senior Leadership.

    Cons

    - Salary is Below Industry Average.
    - No Clear Career Planning (despite a lot of work behind it).
    - Internal Cliques / Politics.
    - Growing Pains of Merging 3 Organizations into 1.
    - Lack of International Movement at Mid-Manager Levels.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - PepsiCo Brands attract talent. Improving work-life balance and compensation will attract stronger talent.
    - Focus on better developing the people leadership of mid-level managers.
    - Give greater clarity on career progression and development plans.
    - Provide more opportunities to move international at different levels when an employee is ready for a change, but a role is not available within the current home country structure.
    - Find better ways to leverage the best of each division to win in the marketplace rather than trying to emulate one and implement in the others.
    - Dare to be different with brand plans and sales strategies - be more proactive to competition than reactive.

I worked at PepsiCo part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    - Eat chips so you can become fat?
    - I was paid fairly well for my position

    Cons

    - Most of the women there are very rude, discriminable, and talk down to you even if you are in the same position as them
    - Lots of gossip/rumour starting behind peoples backs (likely due to the abnormally large amount of women working there)
    - No career advancement - don't expect to use anyone as a reference for future jobs, they aren't allowed to give you one even if you are recommended for rehire like I was
