Current Employee – been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than 8 years

ProsGreat people, good benefits, comfortable working environment, work life balance is there with some positions but not all. It's overall a great place to work!

ConsOvertime in this role won't exist for very much longer. Can be stressful at times, and they can put alot on your plate on the sales side.

Advice to Senior ManagementHuman Resources. With the recent takeover from PepsiCo they no longer care to preserve employees who have put in their time if they don't have a college degree. Well, they won't force you out but you shouldn't think too far ahead about moving up. They place too much emphasis on can this person fill the next two steps, instead of the canidate is the absolute best person for the job. With the concern PepsiCo places on hitting sales numbers and cutting costs due to revenue trending down, I think they need to rethink the mindset of HR and Employee Development. Does it make sense to watch overtime and cut location costs, but then turn around and send someone to Pittsburgh for a week to train since they were hired from the outside and need to learn the position? Need to take a better look at the internal canidates more seriously for managment roles. A manager/leader that your frontline employees respect and respnd to, is one that has done everything they have before, and knows the day to day struggles. How can someone effectiely lead a group of individuals when they have never preformed those tasks themselves? Considering leaving the company because of this HR/PepsiCo mindest.

Plano, TX (US)

Former Employee – worked at PepsiCo

ProsBig company, many opportunities to network, certain departments are very great to work in terms of growth.

Conshorrible management, poor use/waste of funding, redundant & unnecessary testing performed repeatedly in this dept, repetitive unexpected terminations.no room for growth

Advice to Senior ManagementEntire R&D dept is a complete mess. Actually provide effective & proper training for new & current employees so that you can progress as a division. No beneficial research being performed that can actually benefit the company or consumers. No team player/professional etiquette among employees and none of them work as team to get the job done and this is why you are behind on almost all of your projects. Manage time better.

New York, NY (US)

Current Employee – been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than 3 years

ProsEverybody likes the Pepsi Guy!
Relatively easy to get hired if you have a clean background and are persistent.
Benefits, not much more; more cons than pros.

ConsLong hours, low $/hour since you are paid a fixed amount, not hourly
You have to work through your lunch to get done in time
You are just a human robot
No real room for advancement

Advice to Senior ManagementAdvice? They won't listen anyway...

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than 7 years

ProsGood Pay, solid work. Great people

Cons30 bosses in a day. Pepsi takes over your life. Changing management and an end to advancement since the company changed from Pepsi Bottling Group to Pepsi Beverages Company. The hiring from within (front line guys) is basically non existent now. Darnshame I wasted 4 years of my life gaining a bachelors degree.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake a look at your front line guys. They're smart, hard working people who know the business.

Current Employee – been working at PepsiCo full-time for more than 8 years

ProsYou learn alot through fighting to facilitate your goals through trying to get involved in everybody else's job.

ConsThere are no operational systems and operating procedures and standards that help you do your job the standard way. Everything is subjective.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement should systemize and follow up on people planning, not only senior management planning. Everyone in the company should have a plan that is transparently communicated to them.

ProsBased on my experiences, good salary can be achieved, along with Good Benefits and some
great people to work with.

ConsQuite a bit of "restructuring" has been going on recently. Also sending more development work outside of the onsite and employee staff.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrust and believe in your employees, they are also customers.
