    Pros

Nice co-workers and managers. The environment is always nice and if you work on cash you get to hear how much the customers love the food and it kinda brightens up your day.

    Cons

Alittle mis-communication with head office sometimes (scheduling)

I worked at Panera Bread part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Better than minimum wage, 50% off of food, usually friendly coworkers, decent clientele

    Cons

you get sick of their overpriced/unhealthy food pretty quick, you can't call in sick you have to find someone to take your shift or else you're screwed, if it's busy and you're on cash or making the food good luck going to the washroom some managers will tell you to hold it you might as well pee yourself, they tell you they're going to promote you but they tend to drag it out as long as possible, management can sometimes play favourites, terrible training process, you don't get any benefits until you've been working there for a year straight

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your turnover rate is high for a reason.

I have been working at Panera Bread full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Okay starting pay at minimum wage, opportunities for wage increase with biyearly review. Cross training available if desired. I was able to keep a steady 40 hours when desired. Flexible shifts-morning shift starts from 5-1, 6-2, 7-3,11-4. Afternoon shifts were 3-10, 4-10. Closed early on Sunday which was good. Opportunities available if you take initiative and show interest in learning new things/positions. Flexible scheduling

    Cons

very concerned about labor hours, sometimes I would be forced to take several breaks during my shift. I did not drive to work to be told that I am not allowed to be on the clock.

I have been working at Panera Bread full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Within my franchise, there is opportunity for growth, but you have to be creative in climbing the rungs on the ladder. Selling a finished product that is created from quality ingredients and seeing my customers satisfied is a fulfilling part of my job. Benefits are good, but only for management, and free food on the shift helps as well. Panera as a whole values employees and invests time and money into proper training to create successful team members.

    Cons

From management to associate positions, the pay is not proportional to the work load that is required. I believe that I could hire higher quality associates if I could pay them more, but my franchise has caps on pay with no benefits to associates, even those that work full time or are hourly managers. Upper management within my franchise does not take recommendations from store-level management, even if the practices would increase sales and transaction growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take into consideration the responses given on the Warmth Surveys and allow General Managers to have more freedom in their position to make the changes necessary to have a more successful cafe.
