    Great technology but flailing management

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsSuper smart engineering staff, impressive technology, decent salaries, free soda and coffee

ConsManagement has has no idea what kind of product that they want to build, how they want to build it or how to sell it. They also have a history of ramping up hiring to get projects done and then doing massive layoffs when they run out of cash. After the last set of lay-offs, I fear that the company may be on its last legs.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus, focus, focus.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Great company to work at day to day

Software Engineer (Former Employee) Pittsburgh, PA (US)

ProsAwesome engineers, technology and culture. Good pay. Personnel drama at a minimum.

ConsCompanies direction/focus changes every couple of years. If the company leadership was a single person, would be diagnosed ADHD.

    right product, but couldn't execute

Engineer (Current Employee) Sunnyvale, CA (US)

Prosinteresting work, big data, lots of company perks.

Consexecution is flawed and revenue is negatively impacted due to schedule slips for new products.

Advice to Senior Managementif you are going to act like a startup, then you should have gotten rid of non-performers when you are aware of it not when its too late.

    Corporate Strategy Keeps Changing

Manager (Former Employee) Pittsburgh, PA (US)

    Prossalaries, great technology, good location

ConsDefinite tension between east/west offices. Unrealistic schedules, and everyone knows it except maybe top management. Priorities and long term strategy keeps changing, which results in wasted effort and hurts morale.

Advice to Senior ManagementJust because you know the minutiae of each work item or project doesn't make you a good leader. Forge a path with realistic expectations, and pay attention to what the competition is going to be doing.

Great Experience ...friendly environment and nice people

Technical Support Engineer (Current Employee) Sunnyvale, CA (US)

ProsNice people and good opportunites for growth in storage industry. Thats all I can say as I am very new in the organisation.

ConsRelatively small company. Not too good salary. Not getting as many perks as other major IT companies in Silicon Valley.

My head spins with all I can learn!

Software Engineer (Current Employee) Sunnyvale, CA (US)

ProsIf you like good technology, smart people that don't mess around, and being successful, this is the place for you.

ConsYou can be left behind if you don't run every now and again. Co-workers are smart, nice, but no-nonsense.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't spread yourself so thin.
