I worked at PPL full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Salary and vacation time are good

    Cons

Leadership has no prior experience, promotion based on popularity.qualifications are sadly over looked, especially at field manager lever.seems the worst employees have been given this role with little knowledge of actual work or skill in managing emoyees

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Fire yourselves , let peco take over and run the company they way it needs to be run.

    Pros

Pay and benefits are good. Training is great. Great co-workers as well.

    Cons

Typical corporate issues Management has a lot of turnover and not a lot of hands-on knowledge. Decisions are made based on personal interest, which is not always a good thing. Many people seem to be scared of being fired for speaking their mind.

    Cons

    Culture. Leadership. Commitment to employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The people matter and that should be reflected in your treatment of them. There is more to this business than the Board of Directors. A great place in ruins.

I worked at PPL as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Very good people, good culture - very music and media oriented - which isn't a suprise

    Cons

Process and communications can be a bit week at a middle management level so this can create a gap between senior management and the guys on the ground

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure that management are working as hard as the guys on the ground - open up more channels for getting bright ideas from the "coal face"

I have been working at PPL as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

There are plenty of opportunities as an intern to meet with senior level management, take professional development seminars and work on significant projects that add to your professional story and that will make you very marketable when apply to full time positions. Wonderful company culture, everyone is extremely helpful and want you to succeed

    Cons

The location is in Allentown, not a very good area. Some interns complained of not having enough to do. There is an older workforce but that will lead to more opportunities for younger employees as a lot of the older employees will begin to retire.

    Pros

A great company with strong ties to the community that is a good fit for me with the fast pace environment.

    Cons

It help peoples who have a trouble background and encourage them to do better. They are very helpful with you getting a resume. It's only a temporary job that is for 9 months but do give good employees extendtions.

I have been working at PPL full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, good pay, excellent vacation policy, comfortable facilities, always interesting work. Great people! The company has a knack for hiring flexible, motivated, and genuinely nice people.

    Cons

Be prepared for a standard 50-hour work-week. Also, understand that this is a top-down management environment; by that I mean senior leadership provides instruction with little staff collaboration and often with insufficient collaboration across senior leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Place more trust the talent you have hired.

I have been working at PPL full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

The pay is good for the area. People are friendly and care about doing a good job. Minimal office politics which allows us to accomplish what we need to. There should be more opportunities in the future as the aging workforce at the company retires.

    Cons

Not as many growth opportunities as I would like to see. People tend to stay in their positions forever which makes it hard to advance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Provide more opportunities for advancement
