I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Work from Home, training (anything you want to learn you can learn).

    Cons

Siloed, if you came over as an acquisition you sort of stay an independent group within the larger organization. Although this could be a Pro for some.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would like to see some diversity, limited ethnics in mid to upper level management outside of Indian/Asians.

I worked at Oracle full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Making money, building your credibility internally. Also, being a successful Oracle salespeople is regarded positively in the rest of the industry ie If you 'make your bones' at Oracle, you will likely find more doors opened to you with other tech companies.

    Cons

High pressure in sales: if you are a Hunter-Killer, you won't mind the relentless emphasis to exceed your quarterly numbers as much. If you prefer to focusing mostly on your own success, you'll be rewarded.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Why bother? That's like trying to teach a pig to sing. Oracle leadership does what it does, has become what it is, and there is no pressing financial gain to changing the way Oracle treats its people. Product first, people third.

    I worked at Oracle full-time

    Pros

Great benefits and stable progression. You knew what was coming as long you put your work in. Great transparency on promotions. Free gym and pool. Food was not free but still very good in the cafeteria. Flex time allowed to work at home or in the office. Remote work was actually preferred unless you wanted a desk. Company was very eco-minded.

    Cons

Work was not meaningful and you didn't get to see your individual contribution towards a larger picture. Thing took 2-3 weeks to turnaround which is typical for a company of this size.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Stable environment to work in but also, interesting as new acquisitions and additions to the portfolio open up new opportunities, challenging because you can be intellectually challenged.

    Cons

High Pressure where it feels like you have no family life, but the biggest issue is no pay raises or promotions except on rare occasions so if you're joining Oracle make sure the compensation is something you can live with for some time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Nurture good performers - promotions and/or pay raises

    Pros

Great benefits, matching 401K, unlimited sick days separate from vacation, great clients

    Cons

Lower compensation than other companies, not a great company morale, self-service is a pain and doesn't get anything done, even if urgent.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Fantastic benefits, flexible schedule (depending on group and manager), many technologies within company

    Cons

Too many product silos, strategic direction is lacking, much churn due to constant acquisitions, no regular review cycle or feedback, internal tools are often abysmal (most notably the development framework)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Tech employment market is far too competitive right now to continue skimping on employee bonuses

Huge company with good benefits but with no growth in your income

I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Flexible Schedule
    Pretty good benefits
    WFH is OK

    Cons

No income growth, no career growth, no profit sharing or yearly benefits.
Huge management chain, so any decision should go via a long chain of approval.
Employee will have a feeling that nobody cares about him, that actually true.
HR / high management position- if you do not like something just go - we will find somebody overseas to replace you. There is a reason for workforce constant deterioration.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop buying new companies; concentrate on your own employees. They are human! Make them to be proud for the company they are working for.
