I have been working at Oracle

    Pros

-outstanding solutions, technical colleagues and ongoing training
-you'll earn a lot of money if you can get one of the few productive patches, but for the most part, those just AMs stick around forever
-base salary for Sales is higher than average
-based on previous reviews, the India office sounds splendid, at least.

    Cons

When I was interviewing, I was assured the OTE is attainable (it's not-35% of your comp is out of your control, either OD or field counterpart dependent). Managers are completely inept- worn out, former reps without any mgmt training who throw reps under the bus regularly, paranoid about losing their own jobs, to be fair. Expect to be micromanaged, and to consistently deliver not just impossible sales quotas but performance metrics ( 50+ calls/day, 10 tracked c-level appointments/week, 12 hours talk time/week, etc). We're so busy faking our stats we don't have time to sell! Last year's Q1 kickoff consisted of everyone squeezing into the floor director's office for one serving of orange juice from the vending machine and sparking wine ("mimosa!" ..almost) in Dixie cups. Don't be deceived, carefully review what people are saying here and separate reviews for the hub you are considering. There are valid reasons this in particular hub has seen over 3x avg rep churn this year alone.

I have been working at Oracle

    Pros

Been treated really well, good reciprocation and partnership in job. Great training. Great manager. Have had the same VP for almost a decade.

    Cons

No lateral management, many internal silos. Need to negotiate hard upfront for salary, since there's little to no raises once you're there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find a way to allow for some job sharing, to allow employees to learn more about the business. Force engineering groups to work better, together. Focus more attention on UI design of products.

    I worked at Oracle

    Pros

Excellent product range, competent resources and agile environment to work in where their leadership and knowledge of best in class outcomes prevailed

    Cons

The nature of constant demand for new revenue growth was often clouded by not taking a customer first attitude. Pressure to perform quarterly expectation was sometimes conflicted with clients process and policy

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If Oracle wishes to demonstrate genuine care for customers, it must figure a way to balance shareholder demands with customer first attitudes. This is the future of how Oracle can grow their in manner that will generate delighted customers

I have been working at Oracle

    Pros

Compensation when you join... Forget about more money after you join.

    Cons

Boring as hell. Not exciting. Risk averse company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Is there anything you can do to make the employees feel excited? Perhaps not, we know the mindless stuff you have to do. I feel for management here... Just save the $$s for early retirement. :)

Oracle is for the most part paralysed by the faceless drones that prevent successful completion of work.

I have been working at Oracle

    Pros

    Pay is decent.
Benefits package is comparable to most large corporations.
No real office to report to, high degree of mobility in the workplace, with regards to location.
Matched retirement contributions, without requirement for vestment.

    Cons

My biggest complaint with Oracle is the way in which competition is promoted within the organization, departments are forced to compete over the same table scraps. If we could find a better way to foster inter-team cooperation, there is certainly enough business to go around.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give some power to individuals down the chain. If you would give the folks the support they need, they will treat the business like it is there own and be more likely to assist in the success of the overall organization.
