Pros – Very solid company with very sharp people working here. I always enjoy the challenge of being an Oracle employee

Cons – It's very self service driven. If you can't do things on your own you are not going to last as long. Everything is self serve.

Cons – In this line of work, travel is a must.

Cons – Complex internal order processing and procedure, lots of politics.

Advice to Senior Management – Simplify backoffice operations for sales

Former Employee – worked at Oracle full-time for more than a year

Pros – Oracle appeared to be a good and equitable company to work for but I was only with them a short time following their acquisition of Sun Microsystems. I would have very liked to have had a longer stay but I was unfortunately a casualty of the takeover

Cons – I don't believe that Oracle took the time to assess the talent base that they inherited from Sun. Being a large company with greater than 90K personnel the effort to reassign workers affected by the takeover was minimal

Advice to Senior Management – During the takeover the Oracle management cut a lot of talent and maintained a lot of mediocre management in the bay area that had lead Sun to it's demise. Didn't seem to make a lot of sense.

Pros – Rewarded with compensation for quality contributions.

Cons – Large corporation where employees are only a number.
Many decisions are made based upon metrics that fuel decision makers supplementary compensation

Advice to Senior Management – Get in touch with reality. Do what is right, not what increases your bonus.

Too much office politics
Stay away from satellite offices

Cons – leave your pride at the door.

Advice to Senior Management – Upper management from USA needs to stop being "duped" take off blinders and spend some quality time to how this hub is managed. It's a shame.

Pros – consistent commission, always work to do and deals to find

Cons – big oracle machine can slow you down with tedious tasks and processes that may not make sense

Advice to Senior Management – Remember when you were a rep and help your reps focus on revenue generating activities in addition to allowing them to do what makes sense for them, not a process that is forced on them
