    Pros

Novell does like to standardize some processes, but does not follow that everything like it should. They also run the company with their own religious views, the Mormon way.

    Cons

No one ever gets a raise. No one gets more then a thank you Email for each year you are here, not even after 5 years.

    Advice to Management

Stop thinking of your own money and start thinking how to keep the company from going down.

    Pros

    Good benefits
Fair compensation for the most part
    Close to downtown core
    Good work/life balance
    Strong product set
    Large dedicated customer base
    Hungry to be relevent again

    Cons

    Mired in red-tape
Stagnant growth for much of recent history
Branding issues - viewed as an old player with little progressive solution focus
    Constant change in corporate direction

    Advice to Management

Bring in some outside Sr. Management to modernize messaging and operational thought. Pick a winning strategy and rally the organization to execute on it, without abandoning for a new strategy after 2 quarters.

    Pros

Really good team environment within the support organization. I had a great experience and enjoyed my time there very much.

    Cons

After becoming a second level support engineer, there isn't much room for continued career advancement and pay increases are minimal year after year, so try to negotiate for as much as you can initially.

    Pros

Good benefits and fellow-employees. Strong products but poor marketing. When I was there, they had purchased our company, so things were a bit chaotic.

    Cons

Poor work strategies, low morale, and poor management strategies. That was 15 years ago, so hopefully things have changed since then.

    Pros

Lots of history, good people, good benefits.

    Cons

They are in a downward spiral. If you didn't get laid off this week, it will be next week. People that don't get laid off are looking for new opportunities. Moral is at an all time low.
