    A lot of learning experience

    ProsI work as inter in Optera branch. Mainly focus on firmware development. While there, I get to learn new technology, work independent, and under minimal supervision.

    Had a long and varied career - too bad that top management steered it into the ditch

    ProsNortel was able to offer lots of opportunities with varied assignments and lots of interesting work.

    The best part was the high percentage of wonderful people to work with. The talent that was assembled was truly great.

    Nortel created some amazing products and was a class leader in its heyday.

    Facilities were good, equipment was high quality.

    Good work/life balance as long as you meet your deliverables.

    ConsUpper management dropped the ball and we all know what happened as a result.

    Too bad they tanked

    ProsThe ability to work from home was great. There was a great deal of flexibility in the hours. Learned so much from all the others.
