I worked at NIKE full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good salaries and benefits. They also offer stock purchase, retirement contribution matches and annual bonuses.

    Cons

Since the major reorg a few years ago things have still not been sorted out and jobs are not clearly defined.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Talk to you mid and lower level employees, there is a lack of communication and senior managers work with their own agendas in mind.

I have been working at NIKE

    Pros

good employee perks, casual yet professional work environment. company has a clear view of their goals and business objectives.

    Cons

career growth of it's employee's is not really a priority for the company, there is no incentive for current employees to stay at the company and continue to work hard

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

career development is key for all employees and it should be taken seriously as it will only benefit nike to further invest in employees' knowledge and skill set. opportunities such as 'stretch projects' are great ways to do this but a 'stretch assignment' can only go on so long before it ends up being a permanent responsibility that the employee should then be compensated for.

I worked at NIKE full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Working at Nike gave me a chance to grow as a person and an employee. For me, it was an intense work environment but I really enjoyed my job so that helped deal with the day to day intensity. Most of the people that I worked with were great. The team environment feels more like a family than just coworkers. Definitely high energy and fun work place that values its employees and expects the best from them.

    Cons

Nike seems to have a just do it way of doing business. There are no excuses. This attitude doesn't always make sense when it comes to training. Nike doesn't always make sure that people are trained and prepared for their next opportunity. They do not on board people well at all. It's sink or swim. They do not pay well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I haven't seen many excellent managers at Nike. Most of them are lacking leadership skills. The company should focus on properly training and hiring the right people to manage others. A bad manager can really ruin the work environment and the effectiveness of the people that they manage.

I have been working at NIKE full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Benefits are good. Summer hours provide opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Northwest summers. Corporate employees get annual public transportation pass. Sustainable conscious company. Employees seem to enjoy working here. Employee discount on cool sportswear and sneakers extended to immediate family and in-laws. Very nice facilities. If you’re young in your 20’s, great place to meet people.

    Cons

Decisions tend to take longer with many consensus and politicking and layers of bureaucracy involved. Danger of getting pigeon-holed in your initial position. Really have to network to find other internal opportunities and be responsible for your own career development

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep or start encouraging employees to be confident in making decisions and own the outcome. Whether succeed or fail, what was learned and how to improve is more important.

I worked at NIKE full-time for more than a year

    Pros

nice sneakers and clothes as present when special events, good schedules from monday to friday, they are good with their employees, make you feel part of the company, good discounts and other benefits. the company is good i all aspects and liked a lot to work here.

    Cons

maybe because the company is so small in my country, the opportunities to grow are very limited, but again this might be because of the size and due the team is so small. the salary can be better.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

re think the salary of the employees, is not that as bad as in other companies, but still if you compare with the salary of the same position in the USA is a huge difference.
