I worked at Mylan Inc as an intern for more than a year

    Pros

Atmosphere is great if you are hard working. Almost everybody there is out to succeed. Benefits are great if you are a full-time employee. Bonuses are good if you are producing. Christmas party is awesome. Leadership was driven. Highly recommend.

    Cons

GMP and IT security protocols can make certain aspects of employment a chore. Dealing with union employees is frustrating. Lots of red tape in certain areas. Firing process is pretty brutal to witness, but if you are producing you shouldn't be worried. Lots of things are very hush-hush and office politics can be overwhelming at times.

I worked at Mylan Inc full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Company has great medical coverage

    Cons

Company is experience growing pains, management is unaware of what is going on within their departments, tenure employees are having a difficult time embracing the global vision, they like the company as it is and do not see the need to change. They are not accepting of new employees (company is very cliquish). I encountered this issues with a certain individual in my group first hand, she made transitioning of job responsibilities painfully and unnecessarily difficult, and refused to provide training or answer any questions.

I worked at Mylan Inc full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The company is on a growth path. That growth is providing a great deal of opportunity for the employees professional growth.

    Cons

Growing a bit too fast for the infrastructure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior leadership may want to consider embracing patience when it comes to systems growth. The use of sound project management with realistic time frame would benefit the Company.

I have been working at Mylan Inc full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Pay is above average and the benefits are unbeatable.

    Cons

Poor work/life balance, very difficult to get time off. Even on vacation, you are expected to work. Over 40 hours a week every week is the expectation and when you are not in the office, it is expected you are mobile connected and still working. Upper management would rather hire outside rather than promote from within.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Understand that not everybody wants to be married to the company.

I have been working at Mylan Inc full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There is a strong entrepreneurial spirit in this company. No one looks over your shoulder, everyone contributes, and everyone seems happy to be here. The corporate mission translates very well to the lower ranks. I get great exposure to top executives, but that has more to do with my position than the company overall.

    Cons

Pay is good for Pittsburgh standards, but for my position it's definitely low relative to what I could get using my same skill set elsewhere.
