Redmond, WA (US)

Former Employee – worked at Microsoft full-time for more than 7 years

ProsFlex schedule and ability to work remote. Management understood employees had to balance family and work priorities. This varies by group.
Good medical benefits: was 100% employer paid but that has changed now.
Opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.

ConsForced stack ranking of employees penalizes managers with high productive teams and creates environment where their is internal competition within the same team.

Advice to Senior ManagementEliminate the stack ranking of your employees. Employee focus should be on how to gain competitive edge on Microsoft's competitors and not within the organization.
