I have been working at Medpace as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Medpace is a Young Thriving Company! They are one of the fastest growing Clinical Research companies in Cincinnati. I needed a job that was flexible with my education, so they worked with my schedule where I could be full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year. I like how Medpace is very aware of all the needs of their employees. The company has a brand new state of the art LEED certified campus and has always created a comfortable work environment for myself. I love how Medpace also provides casual dress throughout each business day for its employees. Workers get to enjoy very well organized training opportunities, that have personally helped me understand my individual roles and contributions to the company. I feel as though there is excellent room for potential advancement within this company. I was offered both a competitive salary and great benefits. They even provide lunch every day in their on campus cafeteria, which I find rewarding since I don’t have to pack a lunch! Another resource I found is that they provide me and my immediate family members a 24/7 weight and exercise facility. I have also enjoyed the friendly help and advice that has been offered to me by my co-workers, making me feel welcome. Work is both fulfilling and rewarding for me as an Intern at Medpace and I am grateful for the opportunities they have provided me!
Other Benefits I have found include:
-Company Intranet and Social Events Page
    -Smoke Free Campus
    -24/7 Campus Security
    -Provided Parking
    -Zumba/Crossfit/Advance Fitness Classes
    -Great Interoffice Communication
    -Thursday Night Pickup Basketball Games

    Cons

Build Awareness of the company. Reach out even more to future employees through college recruitment. Be more open with public relations and marketing. Have more Medpace based events held on campus. Become more active on Social Media.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep working hard by listening to the needs of employees. Distribute more Medpace news to the public (community events, sponsorship, philanthropy etc.) Encourage more employee involvement throughout the workplace. Continue expanding the business internationally.

    I worked at Medpace full-time

    Pros

A very young, ambitious staff that is fun to work with. Benefits are decent with a good work-life balance

    Cons

Limited opportunities for personal and professional growth

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The upper, upper management needs to be less involved on the day to day operations and continue to look at the big picture. Also, there needs to be more recognition of some weak links in the management staff.

    I worked at Medpace

    Pros

    - There are some people here who really know what they are doing
    - Nice shiny new offices
    - Strong therapeutic knowledge throughout the clinical staff

    Cons

    - CEO is still way too involved, and occasionally verbally abusive
    - Top level functional management has been the same for +15 years ... they aren't going to budge on new ideas
    - Uncompetitive pay

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start embracing change. Top management: LET GO. Be willing to pay for talent.

I worked at Medpace full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Free lunch, work out room, good salary.

    Cons

Mid-level management is ineffective with higher management in getting needed changes in place to improve the company. Often such projects are just put off "until another year."

Executives primarily concerned about coming in under budget.

No room for advancement or encouragement to advance to higher levels.

IT Support group stopped training for some reason.

Merit increase process was very vague. You have no idea if you're going to get one or not or how much of one it will be if you are going to get one.

Culture is very much "everyone for themselves" and rife with nepotism.

I worked at Medpace full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Has nice perks like gym, free lunch, and food trucks. Building is clean and brand new.

    Cons

Your salary will be (way) below market standards, you will not get promoted quickly or move up even if it makes sense and the department needs it. The red tape in this company is ridiculous. Bad supervisors get to stick around while undervalued employees that make a difference get fed up and leave. You won't be eligible for a raise until 1 year after you work there (for most departments) and HR purposefully schedules your yearly review one week before you're year anniversary. So you can't even get a raise for another six months when your next review is scheduled. Its sneaky things like this that show you that Medpace does not really value it's employees. At all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This company is growing quickly. While the lower levels grows upper management refuses to change. Major readjustments must be made!

I worked at Medpace full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Compensation and benefits are good. If you work at the office there is a nice workout facility and free lunch. After training you are able to work from home.

    Cons

The Manager's are not flexible, do not give honest feedback, talk negatively about employees/ position/ company, and expectations are unclear and be prepared to work long hours. Cannot bring new thoughts or ideas- they don't care to change.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

None of the Managers are on the same page. One will tell you one thing and another will tell you something completely different.

I worked at Medpace full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great training for CRAs, very structured

    Cons

Pay is much lower than industry standard for regular FTE, added on the expectation to work 60+hrs a week. A very strict non-compete agreement keeps employees from leaving

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Most employees are not willing to devote their entire life to working for a company, especially for low pay. Focus on work/life balance rather than burn out your employees

    Pros

Very structured, positive, great learning opportunities

    Cons

Pay is below industry standard (very below), the non-compete required to sign at hire is extremely limiting as to where can work 12 months after employment ends, and if you are good at what you do, expect to work 60+hr weeks

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

work/home life balance keeps employees loyal
