Former Employee – worked at McKesson
Pros – Excellent products developed by top-notch engineers.
If you want a lifetime job or to move around from job to job within the company this is your place.
Cons – If you have a career path in mind, move on to another company as there are next to no opportunities to advance a specific career here.
Tendency to promote "lifers" into management without a thought as to their suitability to manage others. As a result, there are a number of managers here without the skills or abilities to lead or manage their reports.
Advice to Senior Management – Examine the suitability of potential managers. Just because someone has filled a seat for x number or years, does not make them suitable to manage others.

Current Employee – been working at McKesson
Pros – Respectful coworkers. Lots of good people and good intentions.
Cons – Responsibilities and expectations aren't very well organized. Inter-department communication is lacking, and team coordination is troublesome as management is constantly looking for someone to help out with some project or another.
Advice to Senior Management – Consistency is key. We're not consistent and even in our efforts to figure out how to be consistent, we're floundering.

Former Employee – worked at McKesson full-time for more than a year
Pros – easy to work from home, good processes and products. excellent vision
Cons – very micro managed. I was a nurse that was in a massive lay off. I do not think the way they did this was appropriate. They spent 15000 each nurse to have them licensed in every state then they laid us all off. When things looked better for the company, they did not call any of us to come back. They hired new nurses with less experience. They invested all of that money in us , along with training and then discarded us like trash. Unfortunately, the ones who got laid off had better metrics than the people they kept because they went by seniority. Not a fair process at all.

Former Employee – worked at McKesson
Pros – Work environment is very laid back, with alot of work. Work schedules are very flexible. Good family oriented environment.
Cons – No room for advancement if you are trying to advance futher in medical field. You have be employed with the employer a number of long years before you can advance. Employer does not promote from within. The pay rate is very low.
Advice to Senior Management – Management need to start considering promoting from within instead of hiring from outside, and losing time, money, and training employees who stay with the organization for a short period of time, and then leave.
