    Pros

Excellent management. Works with the team, rather than solely delegating. Great pay for the position. Great customers.

    Cons

No career progression or opportunity. A good place for students to work while schooling.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being too nice to employees that are clearly taking it for granted.

I have been working at Marriott

    Pros

Easy to get in, mostly nice people

    Cons

    Low salary, workload is un-realistic

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pretty good of a place to work in. Just too bad the pay wasn't very high, so can't offset my drive to work everyday. Even though the work load is way too much, they do give an opportunity for anybody to do their best at this place. Definitely would recommend this place for people to break into the field, and for people that live close by.

    Pros

Easy-going guests and colleagues, and occasional free food and company events.

Theft within the employees, staff can be untrustworthy (housekeeping, maintenance or young front desk). They blatantly take your lunch items or steal from wallet if not kept securely in lockers.

I have been working at Marriott full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

I really enjoyed my department. The recreation team was so much fun sometimes it didn't even feel like work. My manager and supervisor were fantastic.

    Cons

They make you pay for the staff cafeteria whether or not you have religious beliefs that keep you from eating or allergies. The food they feed you is repulsive and poorly maintained. Maggots in the pop machine is just unacceptable. The core values of the company are great but need to be executed better. Executive leadership seems to think they are an elite group and do not seem to care to much about staff. During the slow season your full time employment get cut to part time which makes it hard to live in Muskoka.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Marriott needs to do an overhaul of the JW Marriott the Rosseau Muskoka. Pay more attention to what your employees have to say about things. Also focus more time on improving the hotel then spending money to expand it. It is a JW after all.
