    Pros

Great working environment and people here are so much motivated. The leadership is great too. You will always find yourself doing something new everyday. Even though some of the employees are part-time the university treats them as them equally and that satisfies lot.

    Cons

University should give raise to part-time employees.

    Pros

Campus is small and people are friendly in general, as in ready to strike a conversation with you any time. The cost of living is low around the campus too.

    Cons

Because of past and recent (and also on-going) budget cuts, they have been cutting funding/pay for all graduate students, both masters and PhDs.
Now, offering them a low funding is one thing but what started happening was that they would recruit grad students on the promise of full assistantship when in fact the college is going to fund them for only ONE YEAR and then it'll be up to the student's professor/advisor to pay the student with his or her grant money thereafter. Not all professors at Tech are even aware of it so they hire students thinking the college will fund them and end up having to let them go to other labs or even transfer to other schools.

    Advice to Management

These are the dark days with higher education budget cuts in Louisiana but be honest about the pay when you recruit graduate students.

    Pros

They have a very good graphic design program. The teachers have a lot of experience in the design world. The campus is very nice.

    Cons

The job fairs have no companies there looking for graphic designers or artists of any kind. It is mostly engineering and business degrees they are there for.

    Pros

Inter disciplinary programs help for research.

    Cons

Too much bureaucracy, no tuition waivers for grad students

    Advice to Management

Try to remove red tape, make things simple. Also please provide tuition waivers to grad students

    Pros

Point of view of your employers is to put school over work. Plenty of time to proritze what you need to do. Great entry level experience for people looking to start on their careers early.

    Cons

Some days are hectic and busy at the job.

    Pros

Overall, great quality of people you'll have to deal with.
The university is expanding, and there are many opportunities to move up as well.
Ruston is a great place to raise a family.

    Cons

Ruston is located in the middle of the Bible belt, therefore is not a party school.

    Advice to Management

Management have to actively listen and respond to the faculty/student body in their demands to better the school.

  11. Good environment, great people, state higher education budget is awful, and the technology infrastructure is unusable.

    Pros

The people are great, the program is great (at least Engineering/Science and Business are), new companies are coming in to work with professors and students, and by all accounts the university is growing and improving.

    Cons

    1) It's in Ruston, LA. which is a small town in the South.
    2) Any online system is ancient, unreliable, and borderline unmaintained.

    Advice to Management

Start a campaign to increase state higher education spending; update your technology.
