I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Great people, managers are approachable and friendly. Good benefits, good pension.
Cons – Once you are on an off-site program you do not hear anything about other opportunities on other programs. You get isolated and program managers do not want to lose you so you are not told about other programs. As well since you are not in a main location managers from outside your program have no clue who you are.
Advice to Senior Management – Communicate program opportunities to all employees. You never know what skills are out there and who might be an awesome fit if you don't ask. To many managers just slot in people they know into new projects without finding out what is out there.

Pros – Training opportunities are great depending on your management.
Stability - depending on which department you're in.
Diverse opportunities for expanding or keeping your job.
Cons – You are replaceable, simply an asset to get the work done, so don't expect to be treated as a human with feeling and emotion. Behave as a machine to get the work done and you'll be okay if you do it well.
Management and Union cannot get along - both act like little children arguing in a playground.
Advice to Senior Management – None - they sincerely don't want to hear what they need to change and for sure don't want to listen to what it will honestly take to make a difference.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Great leadership and good pay. Pay for performance, so if you work hard your pay will go up quickly.
Cons – Large corporation that does have its fair share of politics. You do have to be aware of how the politics work and understand that sometimes politics will prevail and you have to learn from it and move on.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the good work

I have been working at Lockheed Martin full-time for more than a year
Pros – Excellent pay for good performance and many benefits including insurance, retirement savings matching, etc.
A challenging job environment and employee improvement structure designed to stretch your abilities.
Cons – Very regimented way of writing code for defense customers who are very picky about minor things. There are many problems with having a cash-strapped single customer for a product. Not the most enjoyable workplace environment (just a cube farm) with laptops given only to management positions (so they can work from their near-constant meetings).
Advice to Senior Management – Working with government customers to upgrade the work environment to one where workers have the option of working from their desk cube or a no-seat-assigned collaborative space would greatly increase both creativity and productivity.

I worked at Lockheed Martin full-time
Pros – Above market salary. Good benefits, lots of corporate discounts (second only to Coca-Cola according to my cell phone manager friend). There are definite benefits to being an employee.
Cons – The salary is highly attractive, but it does make movement to other positions difficult. You essentially get priced out of most other organizations, which I guess helps retention. Does make it difficult if you're in a position that doesn't fit for you.
