Current Employee – been working at Kelly Services
Pros – It's a large company, worldwide, has a good reputation. The work environment is very friendly, good communication channels. Opportunities to learn, trainings for employees, work life balance.
Cons – The data base program is very old, not up-dated, to many papers to complete for candidates. Limited package of benefits.
Advice to Senior Management – Invest in a new data base program, increase the communication within branches, reduce the paperwork procedures.

Former Employee – worked at Kelly Services as a contractor for more than a year
Pros – - IBM experience can be placed on resume
- Technical requirements low, good starting position
- Initial Contract for one year, can be renewed
Cons – - Kelly Representatives are weak to pressure from IBM management
- Kelly representatives on site are useless for training and employee support, only parrots to whatever IBM representatives tell them
- Position can be terminated at anytime due to no fault of employee
- Jobs have no advancement, no future, no raises
- Very low pay, Hourly pay is at least three dollars lower per hour to what IBM contractors get
Advice to Senior Management – Instead of listening blindly to what IBM management tells, it's best to confirm details as sometimes the IBM management are wrong/misguided/biased

Current Employee – been working at Kelly Services full-time
Pros – The pros for working at Kelly Services is very straight foward simple; its a well known company and its a popular brand name in the work industry just like pepsi, walmart etc....
Cons – Having more then 6 years experience in customer service (Bilingual) and 3 years in oil and gas experience on the field, the main objective for contacting Kelly was to get an entry level position in oil and gas in the city of calgary. For now over a year i have been contacting the company for the exact same position that keeps coming up on their website with no success when i have all the requirements needed under my belt. Everytime i talk to this certain representative in charge of the position, its always a story after another. I've been to other agencies and when asked if i applied with any other agencies and when i mention Kelly services, they suggest that i should go anywhere else but Kelly. If you are really wanting to get a fast and recruiter to contact you from apllying there, then i would suggest you look elsewhere then this company.
Advice to Senior Management – I think management should really focus on reaching out to the outside world since your a well known international agency and not only settle for referals and internal hiring because their are many people with alot of work experience and capabilities of rising and succeeding just as well as the other people in the work industry.

Current Employee – been working at Kelly Services
Pros – Kelly Services provides and promotes continuing education and growth, and fosters a culture of enjoyable learning and relevant skill development. This isn't not a corporation of ego's, it's filled with experienced and knowledgeable leaders that nurture, share and innovate. This is a brilliant company.
Cons – Kelly Services is the 5th largest employment agency in the world. We are globally distributed and can garner massive strength from internal communication systems. Thus the challenge as a BDR is the ability to get 'all' of the relevant information, when approaching an opportunity. Kelly has responded to this by investing in systems that have enabled global communication in ways that I never thought were possible. They impress me every day. This week, Kelly Services even launched an app in the app store.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep on doing what you are doing! Kelly is an excellent organization to work for. We are financially sound and innovatively positioned to excel well into the future. The largess of Kelly Services is seldom felt, and the bureaucracy of a $5 Billion business is managed like a well oiled machine. Cheers!

Former Employee – worked at Kelly Services
Pros – The offices were located downtown with easy access to the metro and bus lines. Possibility to have a closed office.
Cons – Too much work (easily enough for 3 people) dumped on one person's shoulders, with constant interruptions and verbal abuse by superior.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to both sides of the story, not just the one of the administrative assistant. Don't let administrative assistant put down one employee in front of the others.

Current Employee – been working at Kelly Services
Pros – Stable, well-established company with low debt; strong market presence as the company that pioneered the staffing industry; strong and tenured staff in middle and upper management
Cons – Lowest salaries in the industry while expectations remain high; lack of innovation; lack of support in Canada from U.S.-managed company; they hire hard/manage soft, so costly selection errors are common when hiring internal staff, and upper management must constantly manage behavioural issues
Advice to Senior Management – Keep a closer eye on the satisfaction of your workforce in Canada; actively solicit, pay attention to and be ready to respond to and act upon their suggestions; be concerned when a valuable tenured staff member leaves the company and take action to prevent this from happening in the first place
