    Pros

The company will constantly challenge you by exposing you to new technical accounting topics and opportunities to prove yourself in a tough situation. There are many high profile clients that you have the opportunity to work on. The reputation of working at a Big 4 accounting firm is good. Majority of the people are intelligent and motivated.

    Cons

The tough situations are caused by high turnover. People quit because the workload is high. Management doesn't do anything to change the workload which results in even higher workloads and more people leaving; vicious cycle. Management makes claims to change things but things never change. Compensation is low for the hours worked. I honestly believe there is collusion between the Big 4 to keep wages low.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Change the compensation structure. If a project comes up (outside typical busy season) that requires busy season type hours, ask for volunteers for the project with the understanding they will be compensated accordingly (substantial bonus for the work, temporary raise, etc). This would reward the people doing the extra work instead of making the people who are placed on it feel like they are getting screwed.

    Pros

There was a lot of training in my line of work. It was a good place to start my career, and I learned about consulting - tough client deadlines, client interaction, putting in overtime etc. Definitely a rigorous environment, but you become exposed to multiple facets of business.

    Cons

I would say with consulting in general, the work, life, balance can be tough. The workload can be intense sometimes (relative to pay), but that's the nature of what you signed up for.

    Pros

New office in Chicago. Though not space friendly yet new in look.

    Cons

Poor work life balance. I have seen almost 70% attrition in my team. Most managers grew up their hence lack dynamic leadership. Its like frog in the well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create work life balance, give opportunity to hear to new people and not to go by gossips of old teens of the team.

I have been working at KPMG US full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

If you are self-motivated, this is a great company to work for. Like the other Big4 Accounting/Advisory firms, it depends on your office and group. But by and large, at KPMG allows your plenty of opportunity to make a name for yourself.

    Cons

The benefits packages compared to the other Big 4 are not that impressive. In particular, our health insurance is subpar.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Truthfully, the health insurance is the biggest con.
