Former Employee – worked at KPMG as an intern for more than a year
Pros – Great people, culture and support. The firm provides mentorship and a lot of support for those going through the exams to obtain their CA designation. They also give varying amounts of responsibility depending on what you are looking for.
Cons – Perhaps not enough people enjoyed their work. DIdn't meet anyone at the firm who truly enjoyed what they were doing and were not planning to leave the firm

Former Employee – worked at KPMG full-time for more than a year
Pros – Big firm name recognition is always useful on a resume and you get experience in all sorts of industries.
Cons – Understaffed, underpaid and overworked. Management frequently expects the impossible and will do anything to get the audit signed. Even major problems at clients are overlooked in order to just signed the audit report.

Current Employee – been working at KPMG full-time for more than a year
Pros – Chance to work with big clients. Get to wear fancy suits.
Cons – There is absolutely no work life balance. For example, benefits such as parental leave and personal care time will not give you a break in the chargeable budget that you have to meet. This means if you take time off to spend with your family, which you are entitled to, you will have to make up for the chargeable hours on your spare time. Basically this means you don't have any time-off benefits.
The only way you will ever make up for the time that you spend working for this company is if you make Partner. That means you first need to work about 12, 15, 20 years of 60+ hours/week. The reason why partners make so much money is because 99% of all employees will NEVER make Partner. It's a clever form of slavery.
Advice to Senior Management – I'm speechless, you people have a severe lack of leadership skills.

Current Employee – been working at KPMG full-time for less than a year
Pros – I chose to work at KPMG because it has high aspirations from its Consulting Practice in Canada. I believe with a renewed focus on building the consulting practice, there would be ample opportunities of growth and impact at all tiers in the firm.
Cons – KPMG Consulting in Canada is doing a great job at expanding into new sectors and clients. However, one of the hottest sectors in Canada - Oil & Gas is not on the radar of KPMG.
Advice to Senior Management – Kick start KPMG Oil & Gas practice. Given strong hold in audit practice, it will be an easy win for us.
