Good company with a good outlook

    Pros

Environment, decent hours, most employees have a fair amount of room for growth up to manager, pretty clean work.

    Cons

Lots of standing, cleaning can be a bit much some times but, it's not that bad

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen a bit more to employees and move on towards more focused and direct management.

  2.

    Smoothies, low pay

    Pros

Got a free smoothie per shift, owner was involved with store on a daily basis

    Cons

low pay, manager said possibly misleading things about career opportunities during interview.

Former Employee - Team Lead in Seattle, WA (US)

    Pros

It's a fun, high energy place to work. There is plenty of opportunity to move up to a store lead if you stay with the company so growth is great.

    Cons

A lot of the workers are teens, so it is hard for them to take it seriously. The higher management seems overly concerned with goals rather than treating the customers right and maintaing a good client base.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe hire older employees and check their background thoroughly.

    Pros

-Good company to get training in and its easy to move up if you are a hard worker
    Being a GM in Jamba:
    -creating your own schedule
-shaping your team to your style
-creating a great place for young people to learn and grow

    Cons

    -Company Focuses can change frequently
-senior leaders can become disconnected with the happenings, needs, and learnings at the field level
-Training program at the team member level needs to be revamped (however I believe there is a plan to do so)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

-Focus on being more Pro-Active with communication to the field

Former Employee - Team Member in San Mateo, CA (US)

    Pros

Great work environment with a lot of fun people. Training was limited, but it's very easy and straight forward to learn quickly and be good at the job in a short amount of time. Hours were very flexible. Most of the other Team Members are young and still in school and scheduling around school was never a hassle.

    Cons

During the Summer and after school during the Fall, the work was a lot more than the compensation (minimum wage) was. All Team Members are paid the same amount, regardless of experience, time at the company, or skill level.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Wish that management would stop changing things constantly. Part of their mission statement is to deliver the customer with a consistent experience, and things changing every couple months in terms of menu items, prices, etc. don't speak well for that.

    Pros

    Flexible hours. Love the customers.

    Cons

Work you to death. They have sell, sell, sell mentality. Be healthy but buy more. For most of the employees this is their first job and the expectations are of someone who has been in the business for awhile.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your are forgetting what its really like working in a store.

Former Employee - Shift Manager in Modesto, CA (US)

    Pros

Jamba is a great place to start for a first job. It is fairly easy to move up within a store, especially if you stay for a year or more.

    Cons

The frequent availability of management positions can leave plenty of room for less than desirable managers. The young management tends to lack professionalism and maturity requiring others to carry their load.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more selective with management choices.
