I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

1- Job security is very high. Firing is very low although in 2014 they have done some layoff through an attractive voluntary separation plan.
2- Laid back culture. High degree of freedom in terms of project goals, implementation methodology, working hours (almost nobody ever questions attendance in meetings/work)
3- Excellent cash bonus and stocks for senior employees (Grade 7 above)

    Cons

1- Base pay is less compared to other employers. Not a top payer.
2- Upper management is slow in decision making, lots of reorganization happens and lots of duplicate efforts for a single area.
3- Slow rate of promotions, career growth.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Decision making should be much faster. Products should be released on a faster cadence.
Redundancy within the organization should be reduced.
Employees should be rewarded monetarily for good work and penalized more for sloppiness

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The center of the computer industry and probably the best of the chip companies to work for. Large number of very smart, hard-working people. Very good total compensation package. Management takes extraordinary measures to avoid large layoffs. Ability to gain experience in multiple disciplines. High ethical standards.

    Cons

Lack of growth limits upward mobility. Large, geographically dispersed organization and long product design cycles can make decision-making complex and slow. Strong corporate culture (also a pro) contributes to resistance to change. Work / life balance has improved in recent years but still has a ways to go.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Increase VP accountability for meeting financial targets. Take decisive action if mobile growth strategy is not working. Invest more in software businesses.

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The best reason to work here are the people. The people are extremely intelligent and work really hard. The other reason why I love working here is you have the opportunity to do anything and everything at Intel. There are always so many things going on internally that you can easily find a good job that fits what you want to do and need.

    Cons

The company is huge so it functions like a big city. A lot of processes to get things done- so there is bureaucracy. Sometimes the middle management isn't up to par due to the high demands on the industry.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

This company provides challenging opportunities, good benefits, and great learning opportunities.

    Cons

The ranking, rating, review and promotion process reminds me of a shark tank. It is too competitive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Trust good employees and promote those who work hard. Sometimes people get noticed for the wrong reasons. And nobody appreciates micro management, this is not a good style and does not promote good work.

I have been working at Intel Corporation as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Great salary/compensation. Flexible work hours (as long as your work is quality and results are achieved). Friendly colleagues. Free whole fruit/soda/coffee/tea.

    Cons

As expected with large corporations, you must be adept at dealing with politics. Don't be a jerk, remain curious, and you should be fine. Work areas remain dull, corporate-like, and could use more color / creative design.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be open to change and innovation. Don't get stuck in the past.

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great work environment and flexible hours. Connecting shuttle provides day trip between sites so that you can spend time with your family

    Cons

Increasing Internal Politics is discouraging innovation and engineer motivation. Following old time business model might not present bright future but change is not happening fast enough to catch up the current business trend.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the outside voice and understand new business model of 21st century, instead of trying to stick to what you have been having already.
