I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time

    Pros

Intel, the brand, the lessons from intel inside - manager are somehow accountable, products are usually kick-ass, global footprint, can move laterally - not up. Flexible hours, wide array of work areas. Salary is fair.

    Cons

need to improve layoff process, we end up loosing valuable people, and retaining bad apples. Very centralized corporate group. No career advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep management accountable, and their lieutenants as well. Business is though and just saying yes to everything that comes from above is not helping us.

I have been working at Intel Corporation as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

2 separate internships at different locations and teams. Both of them were very enjoyable and beneficial for my career. Worked with very helpful people. Work-life balance was pretty good for me. Good compensation and attention to employee health and ergonomics is amazing.

    Cons

This company is a huge machinery and it takes a while to get going. Publishing results in academic venues is a hassle. The number of meeting rooms is way less than the absurd number of meetings taking place every day. Cafeteria food isn't very good.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Intel funded our startup division Intel Media and eventually spun it off to Verizon.

Intel made sure we had the right talent and resources to really innovate.

Fantastic benefits, ESPP, stock grants, bonuses, work/life balance. I really am proud to say I worked for Intel.

There is a employee cash bonus and accelerator.

The culture is that of get it exactly right and be respectful of others.

    Cons

Intel really missed on the mobile window and is now trying to catch up. The stock performance really reflects that. Intel is a great, long term place to work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

While I wish they had retained our TV endeavors, I completely respect Mr. Krzanich's direction to put investment towards wearable and mobile chips.

Also, continue to move to a meritocracy based performance model to reward individuals for great work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Critical to greatly improve the people management and prevent talented resources from separating.
