Current Employee - Senior Research Scientist in Santa Clara, CA (US)

    Pros

Lots of options to work on different things without having to leave the company. Many groups are great to work with, and compensation is fair. If working with the right teams, ample opportunity to work on interesting things and grow yourself.

    Cons

Usual pitfalls of big companies - too much bureaucracy, needing to get buy-in from many people before doing something, slow to change and way too many people who have been there forever and resist change.

    Pros

Intel trusts the employees to do their jobs and the company always assumes employees act with integrity until proven otherwise

    Cons

For some reason, they think it is a good idea to put people into jobs they know nothing aobut and have no skills, training or ability to execute well - i find this to be particulary true in the HR organization - which is frightening

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

We need a tool to give feedback on managers that matters

Current Employee - Intern in Santa Clara, CA (US)

    Pros

Lots of people to talk to and projects to talk about. Good programs and classes for career development, project/people management, public speaking, etc... Convenient air shuttle to fly you from place to place. Friendly workers, and anyone in the company is easily reachable. Employee circuit pages are very helpful to get the inside scoop on the company.

    Cons

I don't like the gray cubicles -- the color seems to drain my creativity away. New Employee Orientation may seem boring and unnecessary after a certain point in the day. Food can be expensive at times.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get to know your employees more. Get more involved in events.

Current Employee - Engineering Leader in Santa Clara, CA (US)

    Pros

    - Very open / candid culture
    - Very talented people (world class experts on the topic at hand)
    - Management open to moving people around, so you get diverse sets of experiences

    Cons

    - Currently (mid 2014) uncertain future. This poses a challenge on many levels throughout the corporation
    - "Pie" is not growing, so politics is
    - Like any large company, it all depends on your manager. So be sure to pay a lot of attention to who you are reporting to. Within the company, your experience will vary a lot

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Allow more experimental culture (and less process driven)
    - Take some aggressive action to remove the perception of "empire building" and growth based on political connections
