I worked at Intel Corporation as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

good salary, benefits(bonuses), possible 1 day a week working from home

    Cons

they took a lot of students, so not many got to continue after graduating
treating students not all that good - fix my crc code, and stuff like that...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

if u train your students well they'll become better engineers and u can have better employees afterwards.

I worked at Intel Corporation full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The work was often interesting, partly because the designs were technically challenging and the products were going to make a big impact in the market. The design tools were good, though not always the best. The rest of the design staff was of pretty high quality, as were the research groups. Pay was good for those with good reviews, very good for those doing well in senior engineering levels, but only so-so otherwise.

    Cons

Groups in different parts of the world (and different parts of the US) have to collaborate often, and it's hard to keep trust between people who don't know each other. Inter-group politics can be nasty. Sometimes the strategic decisions by top management were mystifying, but that's probably true in all large companies.

I have been working at Intel Corporation

    Pros

Good worklife balance, strong processes, information sharing

    Cons

Low morale in CA hq, low starting pay for financial analysts,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay junior financial analysts more, they should not have to bunk up five to an apartment in order to make ends. I left primarily because of pay. Archaic performance review system.

    Pros

This is a very competitive firm, likes to win. Comp is ok. People are very talented. you will work with the best in your field. Workplace facilities are improving and plenty of opptys to work in different parts of the company

    Cons

Not really a lot of cons. It's a big company, and just depending on where you are, sometimes decisions can be slow. Normal for any big company. Intel is relatively agile.

Current Employee - Senior Software Engineer in Seattle, WA (US)

I have been working at Intel Corporation full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great Place To Work. That's their tagline and it really is. Lots of extras, depending on which site you're at. Company services (fix the burned out light, help with computer issues, etc.) are extremely well managed and organized. Benefits are first rate.

    Cons

My manager wasn't too helpful in bringing me into the already existing group. I joined Intel as part of a massive IP purchase where I wasn't really involved in the relevant IP, leaving me with no useful function in the new organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide some flexibility in IP purchase agreements; I had absolutely no recourse after the agreement was signed, even though all agreed I should not have been transitioned to Intel.
