I have been working at Informatica full-time for more than 3 years

Pros – Good culture. Informatica has a good work culture compared to many Software product companies.

Cons – Management always changing the way various tasks are done. Only thing that is constant is change. Change is supposed to be a good thing only if the change improves a process, most of the changes done by Infa Managment doesnt improve the process but just change it.

Pros – Great coworkers, great managers, clear career path, flexible!

Cons – No cons, Informatica is the best company to work for in Silicon Valley. No complaints.

Pros – 1. Able to work on great technologies
2. Work-life balance is there

Cons – 1. Lots of new people and new faces so hard to keep track of all of them.

Pros – Great Training, good benefits, some working from home depending on clients, decent pay, sometimes flexibility with travel.

Cons – Difficult to prove yourself for promotion. Sometimes too much travel. Difficult to move off of a long term project you don't like so you just kinda get stuck there.

Advice to Senior Management – Get direct management to run the performance reviews of relevant employees. Doesn't help when your reviewer is 3 levels higher than you.

Pros – Learn more as you go - Lots of good projects having too much of R&D Stuff
Transparency in work
Great work culture - flexible timings(I loved this most), work from home, decent recreational activities
Learned team mates
Decent oppurtunities to get exposure working in abroad.
Nice pay and quick promotions if you are performing well.

Cons – Nothing much to say here. A few more recreational activities can be added to bring the "WOW EFFECT".

Pros – Great Company, great work culture, lot of fun. People work hard, play hard.

Cons – Too many asians as Engineers. Not much diversity.

Cons – a lot of work still driven from US office, reactive approach to market in last few years

Pros – -Stable company
-A 'Start-up' compared to a company the size of an IBM
-Sponsor green cards
-Been around for a long time
-Generally good people

Cons – -Boring and antiquated looking s/w
-Management is about 2 generations removed and needs to stop behaving like they are school teachers and their team are children who need to be disciplined
-Your manager can make or break you
-Very slow moving company
-Strategy is similar a giant - grow by acquisition, which causes too many different cultures to co-exist , not necessarily harmonious, and no real company 'culture', although they are trying very hard

Advice to Senior Management – Rebrand, Make it look new and shiny and get more fresh talent in the company. Promote on merit NOT on time spent in the company. What age are we in? 1950s?

Pros – 1.flexible timing
2.good relationship within team
3.company takes good care of its employees needs

Cons – 1.not that much of cultural activities (since i joined )

Pros – -One of the most beautiful company to work for when it comes to work culture(Flexible Work timings, Politics free environment, Decent work life balance).
-Many return back to the company after leaving-some in 3 days, some in 3 months and few in 3 years.
-There is no cut throat competition wrt promotions- you will get it when you deserve it.
-Pseudo-startup like environment without the issues associated with a startup.You won your product.
-The CEO - shoaib abbasi

Cons – -Very reluctant in moving beyond data integration/data quality space. They hire graduates from premier institutes but are not able to match their work expectations.
-Salary not competitive enough to competitors so often loose good technical ppl.

Advice to Senior Management – Need to go beyond our comfortable zone of data integration/data quality. There is lot of things going on wrt using data for business outside Informatica. Informatica must have products in the areas of data science/data mining, predictive modelling etc to really expand its customer base. For example, Oracle has oracle data miner. IBM has lot of products in the same category. This will not only increase on revenues but also will attract and retain the best of the talents and make the employees like us stay longer.
