    Dissapointing

Front Desk Agent (Former Employee) Vancouver, BC

ProsBig corporation. Competitive wage. Downtown. Seasonal jobs.

ConsManagement does not have any value for employees. When you come with a problem to them the answer is this is how it is take it or leave. They give you a filling that you can be replaced anytime and that you are worthless. The entire corporation is build to tell you how important you are for the company but turn around and ditch you at first occasion.

Advice to Senior ManagementLearn to appreciate listen and support your employees. Don't think you are the god. Management is not giving only orders is solving problems as well, coaching empowering and supporting.

Great starting point in the hospitality industry

Banquet Server (Former Employee) Toronto, ON

ProsThe staff are all very helpful and approachable. Senior management is very understanding yet able to be stern when needed. The responsibilities of a banquet server do not include difficult tasks so it is not very strenuous.

ConsThe work environment was friendly but the employees in my department were much older (40+) so I didn't have much of a relationship with them. I'm in my early 20s. Therefore my shifts weren't all that exciting. The employee dynamic wasn't what I particularly liked.

-They hard try to convey the importance of having happy employees.
-Everyone is extremely friendly and there is a strong team atmosphere.
-There is a great emphasis on fun and not taking yourself too seriously

ConsThis is a service industry job and therefore the pay is not great. During slow times hours are cut and during busy times you are expected to work a lot of overtime.

Meeting Concierge (Former Employee) Vancouver, BC

ProsThe training and experience was impressive!

    Finance Position at Hyatt

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Toronto, ON

ProsIt is a leading company in the hospitality industry. It has its standard process of doing business. The additional employee benefits are great for those who loves travelling.

Conslimited support from management and peers. There is little on the job training opportunities. The compensation is also so so.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagers at Hyatt should pay more attention to employees in terms of their career advancement, as well as the on the job training.
