ProsYou receive great employee discounts on hotels across the world. Good experience if your looking to progress in the hotel industry.

ConsYour micromanaged have limited growth opportunities as favourites only get promoted. The job isn't unionized so managers walk all over you and cut hours when there over budget.

Advice to Senior ManagementAllow employee feedback as this will give staff the opportunity to bring to your attention items that require immediate correction.

Niagara Falls, ON

Former Employee – worked at Hilton Worldwide

ProsFun people to work with, busy all yesr round so always get decent hours, and pay compared to other hotels in the area is good.

Consthe politics, its not how skilled or how hard a worker you are, its more of who you know
almost impossible to get time off during the busy summer season, and the late hours mean I don't get to see my kids as much as I would like to.

Advice to Senior Managementshow more respect towards your employees and dont treat them as being "below" you

Edinburgh, IN (US)

Current Employee – been working at Hilton Worldwide full-time for more than 7 years

ProsEasy to climb the ladder in a few short years with little expierience. Big brand name for your resume. Over 500 locations worldwide you could apply at.

ConsHigh turnover makes it difficult to build a team at any level, even managment. Little control over products standards and menus in the restaurant.

Advice to Senior ManagementThis company is great at recognizing employees and promoting from within. It is not good at keeping those people long after they are promoted. Exceptional people will work for peanuts for a short time, then they will move on leaving you worse off. Create incentives for people to stay, Especially those who have been promoted rather than hired in at their level.
