Little room for movement

Entry-level Manager (Former Employee)

I worked at Hilton Worldwide full-time for more than a year

ProsThere are some opportunities for good rates in some of the company's Hotels throughout the brand.

ConsIn the nearly 2 years I was with the company there was never a departmental meeting and I never received a performance review. There doesn't seem to be any interest shown in career development nor helping employees identify and reach for their career goals.

Advice to Senior ManagementGive team members the opportunity to voice their concerns and suggestions.

ProsYou receive great employee discounts on hotels across the world. Good experience if your looking to progress in the hotel industry.

ConsYour micromanaged have limited growth opportunities as favourites only get promoted. The job isn't unionized so managers walk all over you and cut hours when there over budget.

Advice to Senior ManagementAllow employee feedback as this will give staff the opportunity to bring to your attention items that require immediate correction.

Hilton, not a bad place to work, but not that great

Banquet Server (Former Employee)
Niagara Falls, ON

I worked at Hilton Worldwide

ProsFun people to work with, busy all yesr round so always get decent hours, and pay compared to other hotels in the area is good.

Consthe politics, its not how skilled or how hard a worker you are, its more of who you know
almost impossible to get time off during the busy summer season, and the late hours mean I don't get to see my kids as much as I would like to.

Advice to Senior Managementshow more respect towards your employees and dont treat them as being "below" you
