I worked at Genesis HealthCare full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The company tries to create a dynamic environment

    Cons

This company overloads most employees, which causes a lot of turnover. When I was there that is why most people left when Genesis bought our buildings. Not that these people were scared of hard work, but Genesis made it ridiculous. They compromised care for paperwork.

I worked at Genesis HealthCare full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

made some good friends along the way

    Cons

It has been several years since I left this company, and I see the same complaints over and over again. Don't expect any changes,They must know but clearly don't care. If you want to have your vacation time denied, don't mind working overtime for no compensation, be OK with being sent home if you don't meet your productivity for the day, have no qualms about overtreating or treating inappropriate (not to mention actively dying) patients, this is the company for you!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

One of these days, a gov't audit will be your undoing.

I have been working at Genesis HealthCare full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I enjoyed the therapy staff tremendously. It makes such a difference when you are with a team that works together!

    Cons

It was tough when we were short staffed, because I had to carry a lot of the weight by myself.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communication is key, no matter what role you are in, whether it be entry-level or management; I believe all staff should be treated equally and respectfully appreciated as well.

I have been working at Genesis HealthCare full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Close to home, great co-workers. Great administrator but nursing management is awful. Love the job but underpaid for the responsibility and work load.

    Cons

Facility management poor, annual raise 15 cents. Not pro in education endeavors as they claim. Fairness is about the 'clicks' in which an employee belongs to.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay is horrible. New hires make more money than those who have been dedicated for years. Please look at raises. Its sad that as a license professional that the local grocery store clerk gets better raises. (0.15 - thats embarrassing). Take your annual employee surveys serious. Ours was horrible but there are no changes.

    Pros

The insurance benefits were affordable, the 401 k program is a helpful way to save and their wellness program encourages employee the maintain their health.

    Cons

The exit packet is beneficial to the company but not exiting employment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The company is well established.

I have been working at Genesis HealthCare full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I can't think of anything positive about the company !!!! It's all about profit!!!

    Cons

I honestly don't know how they stay open...there is so much illegal activity going on there. The residents were neglected and treated poorly.

The administrator is focused on her bonus and trying to cut corners. We never have the supplies that we need to do our jobs.
    The place us filthy !!!!!!!
Stay away if you value your license !!!!!!
    They don't have your back!!!!!!!!
They will throw you under the bus and not think twice about it.
They hire anyone even if the nurse has restrictions on his/her nursing license....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on patient care not about the $$$$$....

    Pros

Challenging, good education offered from the corporate level.

    Cons

They say one thing, than do another. Poor education in the facility, DON doesn't even follow policies of the company, but corporate sides with them anyway.
