Former Employee – worked at Frito-Lay full-time for less than a year
Pros – The length of your day and your salary are directly related to your ability and drive.
Great atmosphere and some good motivation
Many four day week positions
Cons – Starting out can be a real challenge and many people don;t make it too far past training.
There was often a bit of a communication lapse between upper management and the dales fleet
Advice to Senior Management – Meet with your new employees more often to discuss progress and their experiences on the job

Current Employee – been working at Frito-Lay full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – - decent pay (no pay raises though). pay is commisioning based and thus is based on your route's sales.
- good benefits
- great pay for summer students
Cons – - long days - 10-12hr days of constant work are quite normal
- super early mornings, must work weekends/holidays
- time off for personal problems is difficult to arrange
- hard work takes its toll on the body, hard to balance work/life
- managers are recruited mostly straight out of university therefore they're inexperienced and often times unable to give us support we need. Store managers do not take them seriously which negatively affects our performance/sales
- almost impossible to get promoted to manager (DSL) if you are a man since the company now hires almost exclusively female managers straight from university
- no other options for advancement in the company as the next step is DSL
- expectations are too high and tasks are not acceptable to our stores (management doesn't help at all)
- difficult to start working here as you need several years of seniority to get your own route. In the meantime you cover for people who go on holidays or do support work (as a result pay can be low, work days erratic)
Advice to Senior Management – - stop giving us more work to do for the same pay
- get on a truck with us at least once a month to see first hand what we have to go through since you don't listen to us when we tell you in meetings
- stop working us to the brink whilst talking about how to improve workplace happiness
- go back to hiring managers by promoting successful sales representatives; do not hire 22yr olds straight out of the university classroom

Current Employee – been working at Frito-Lay full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Good pay and good benefits
Cons – Working in extreme weather conditions without a/c or heat
Eventually wears your body and mind
If you work out of a bin prepared to be ignored
Upper management that only cares about the bottom line and making themselves look good
NO work/family balance unless you have a primo route
Long working days unless you are a slacker and let others do your work
Lots of "talk"but very little action
At the end of the day the company really doesn't care about you
Long days, work every holiday, work every weekend
Too much work to get done in one day
Advice to Senior Management – Get on a truck or visit a bin in the middle of summer or dead of winter. Talk to your employees and listen to their needs. Not just with surveys but person to person. Let them feel like the tons of hours they put in or all the holidays they have given up or all the kids sporting events they coukdnt attend was actually worth it or appreciated. Promote based on merit and job preformance NOT on senority. SOmany people take atvantage of this and it promotes hostility in the workplace!

Current Employee – been working at Frito-Lay as a contractor for more than 3 years
Pros – None that can think of ! Is a no star rating possible
Cons – Frito lay will destroy you if possible, the only ones treated worse than lower management are the hourly employees on the floor but at least they are unionized and receive better pay and benefits.Frito lay cares little about their employees and less about thier employees lives, Corporate greed at its best.
Advice to Senior Management – what comes around goes around you will all be judged for your actions and the famlies you destroy with cut backs and job eliminations. Most of you could not manage a one man solitare tournament. Learn some people skills and find some morals.

Former Employee – worked at Frito-Lay part-time for less than a year
Pros – - Eat chips so you can become fat?
- I was paid fairly well for my position
Cons – - Most of the women there are very rude, discriminable, and talk down to you even if you are in the same position as them
- Lots of gossip/rumour starting behind peoples backs (likely due to the abnormally large amount of women working there)
- No career advancement - don't expect to use anyone as a reference for future jobs, they aren't allowed to give you one even if you are recommended for rehire like I was
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at Frito-Lay
Pros – if your a kid out of high school, it will help you pay your bills
Cons – you will get trapped there, it will wreck your body, mind and self esteem. as years go by you will be expected to bow to their every whim. expect to make less and less money as they raise their prices higher and downsize bags. The pay you will receive does not even keep up with inflation. What am I saying, they are inflation! and greedy
Advice to Senior Management – hang yourself

Current Employee – been working at Frito-Lay
Pros – A very strong emphasis put on team work, everybody from the top to the bottom works hard and plays hard together. The constant feed back and recognition from management help in strengthening an overall work environment. Work/life is well balanced, flexible hours works well with busy family life.
Cons – Shortage of quality worker to fill the demands of a fast growing company, sometimes creates stress with in the business.

Former Employee – worked at Frito-Lay
Pros – Helps pay for you education.
Cons – I worked there for a summer to earn money for college. Training was minimum. FUll-time people would not help students felt threatened that their job may be taken away. Work conditions were not the best. Difficult to get time off even for educational purposes. Student's were not allowed to have any time off within the summer months.
Advice to Senior Management – You need to look into training your part-time/seasonsal employees. This may be a dangerous situation for people to be operating machinery they are not full comfortable in using. Student were making significantly less than those full-time employees and were often left doing more work. Significantly less meaning 5-8 dollars
