I have been working at Forever 21 part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Very friendly managers and a nice environment to work in.
You're always on your feet and never bored because there's always something to clean up or someone to help.
Huge stores usually so managers don't pin point you when you're occasionally off task dozing off.
You can literally wear anything (except for exposed logos) but when i mean anything i mean, you can come in jeans and a sweater and they wouldn't care (although I enjoy dressing up for work)

    Cons

    Horrible employee discount of 10%
Too much merchandise and the visuals always change where everything goes so it's hard to direct customers.
Mornings are so slow there's absolutely nothing to do
But closing is always the worst because we tend to close beyond scheduled timing
Too many go-backs that are hard to pin point where they go because of the ever changing layout of the store.
Many employees are careless because Managers aren't so strict

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please lay off some employees and give shifts to deserving employees.
There are over 300 employees at the Dufferin location and over 2/3 don't have shifts anyway

I have been working at Forever 21 full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

There are no pros; i really dont see any pros. I always thought that people were being mean when they leave bad reviews but i was wrong. Other stores offer more than 10%.

    Cons

I always got closing hours. Which i complained of severally but no change, a bunch of us lived in oakville, toronto and very far away. We end up not getting home and sleeping at anywhere we can sleep because there are no means to get home. We thought we would be getting the day shift but we were wrong our hours were even reduced to non per week .

i just called been working there less than two weeks and everybody is tired.

They treat us really bad and keep yelling at us to fold clothes after closing and we are the reason that is making ourselfs late. Its no different from a factory job.

The money is a bit less than minimum wage. Too much work for so little pay

Customers keep dropping things on the floor. You always have to be working , always folding while doing that customers will come meet you to help with something you have to leave your area to go help them.

By the time you are back your area is messy again. Break hours are really bad.

Im a bit older than most. Sometimes ill get a high school sales associate trying to tell me what to do or using the managers name to get me to bulge.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You make us feel like we are glorified slaves. It really is not nice the way we are always being yelled at

    I worked at Forever 21

    Pros

The great part about working at Forever 21 is that the everyday job really does rely on team work. Because of this, you are able to make close relationships with your coworkers. Managers I've worked with are very understanding about personal situations and offers a break to pull yourself back together.

    Cons

Customer tend to make a fuss over return policy. Customers are also messy when shopping and then complains about the mess. When the stress takes over the entire team, it can turn the whole day upside down. Since team work is very critical at this job, everyone has to be at the top of their game every moment. Discounts are also horrible, it's not worth working so hard for a company that gives a discount that's about the sane as your tax.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't let the stress take over you. When you stress out the whole team stresses out. Keep calm, and professional. Give a smile of reassurance that the team will get through the day.

I have been working at Forever 21 part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    - Nothing, therefore ill take this space to do negatives:
     - Hired 300 people for opening : very small mall, 2 levels
     - Opening: labour that was unjust and unwarranted : assembly lines for 3 hours : passing down 30 pound boxes
     - Managers were beyond rude and informal : it was simply a "i'm paying you so shut up and do it"
     - One employee actually cried due to the pressure and work
     - Hired minors
     - Very unorganized
     (Continued on cons..)

    Cons

    - Unorganized, how? it tooyk us an hour to clock-in, systems never worked : fingerprint = useless
    - Sales Associates put in hours of hard labour ; what did managers do? Watch and talk? = no help whats so ever
    - After store opening:
    - There was more people working in the store than actual customers
    - Still took an 1-11/2 to clock-in and get our meeting for the day
    - Managers finally figured out that 300 people WAS TO MUCH! - therefore they started cutting down
    - I had one shift = 5hrs - 3 people working; store was busy and we couldnt handle the crowd ; naturally i complained about the understaffing; where the manager said: "welcome to the real world", REALLY?
    - No compassion
    - Gradually I got no shifts and I quit over the phone

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - I know its a Korean owned company; where people believe in labour laws being made to be broken; but the way you treat people in developed countries in ridiculous. I am a student at one of the top universities in the world; trying to find a part-time job for side expenses, i am not lower than you in anyway and i certainly dont deserve to be treated that way either. Save you sweat shop behaviour for china and korean based operations, this is Canada!

I worked at Forever 21 part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

the only thing I would say is the 10% Discount... which isnt much either
The Job is easy to get especially if its a new store opening.
promotions are happening all the time.
    friendly employees

    Cons

    Bad management
promotion of unqualified sales associates to management
hiring because you are a certain nationality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

we all make the store work!
treating sales associates as if they don't make the store work is not fair.
