    I worked at Flextronics

    Pros

The company has an incredibly large portfolio of products being designed, manufactured, tested and delivered for diverse OEMs using state-of-the-art top notch technology across the globe. Flex is one of the biggest players in the EMS industry and throughout the years has increasingly developing a good structure. For a hardworking millenial who loves what he/she does and wants to learn the EMS business this company is the place to be.

    Cons

At the plant level employees often have to spend countless hours at work to get the things done.

I have been working at Flextronics full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Just like the Mexican Mafia the money was decent but you really have no idea how long you will be there, it is not dependent on job performance, I received several raises and praises before my original boss got the chainsaw.

    Cons

It is a little bit more disorganized than the Mexican Mafia, It can be a lengthy fight to find out who is in control and sometimes the customers win, just be sure not to show over loyalty to one side since it might be different the next day, week or month.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Basically here in Austin it is Solectron, just with the name change, the company itself really has employee relations as a very low priority. Flextronics that I was familiar with in California actually has a pretty decent rating and is run efficiently with organized management teams. Here there is no real plan and management is corrupt.

I worked at Flextronics full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits & pay is average, co-workers were awesome people to work with, while they lasted. Got very good experience while working there.

    Cons

Raises were minimal, too many lay-offs, management does not listen to your concerns for improvement or have a desire to hear them either. It is a buddy system with management, it is not what you know, it is who you know. I am just very sad to say that this company layed off so many talented people while I was there & they had no regret of doing so, while on the same note keeping other folks with less experience just because of the buddy system they have in place. This will be a downfall in their future as the word gets around. I am sure most of their customers will notice this when the quality & reliability of their product will come back to bite them. They also hire contract employees from outside of the U.S. in U.S. factories, which was not very comfortable with me, as some of these folks did not LIKE Americans or Westerners, if you know what I mean.

So maybe it was a blessing from God to stay away from this type of environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stay safe & listen to your employees, they are the ones in the front line keeping your jobs secure!!!

I have been working at Flextronics

    Pros

After working with the company as a customer for 4 years, I knew that I would one day join the Flextronics family. I have never been more happy since joining the company. Nor have I witnessed an organization of such grand scale invest in their employees' education, careers and professional development. I can't say enough great things about the company and its people; from top to bottom I have found nothing less than first class.

    Cons

I have no cons to offer.

I have been working at Flextronics full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Great place to work, good pay scale, a lot of support (when you look for it), seems to be a strong management (but to be seen), not so much micro management

    Cons

Too large of an organization, can be bureaucratic, a lot of senior management changes in recent months

I worked at Flextronics full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Personal Growth is in the culture. Lots of opportunity to go places. specialization occurs in segments. Good technology

    Cons

Not a 9 to 5 job, working globally has it challenges, moving from one segment to another is not as easy as it should be, there are some silo's and the company has some duplicate of roles
