    Pros

Talented people. You can usually work from home when necessary, salaries are good. Some projects are great, you can learn a lot in that company. Good vacation and health benefits.

    Cons

Salaries are good but salary increases do not follow inflation. Managers tend to work for their own success. Montreal office is heavily controlled by the HQ. Product quality is less priority then cost of developing it which create bad designs sometimes.

    Pros

Very learning environment. Senior programmers are skillful and knowledgeable.

    Cons

Work-life balance is little out being working as a developer in this place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There should be a balance between productivity(work) and the personal life importance and higher management should make sure that the balance is being supported by the company, not any specific side..

    Pros

Flexible hours-you can come and go as you please as long as you get your work done on time
Casual environment-allowed to listen to music and surf the internet during company time
    Nice location
    Free drinks
    Extensive training for new hires
    Collaberative team work

    Cons

Very clique-y, i.e. different departments didn't interact with each other, senior management wouldn't talk to or acknowledge entry level staff and temps, new hires and temps were excluded from company meetings, events, and outings
Work was repetitive and boring at times
    No benefits
    Pay was a bit low
Lack of job security-management would layoff employees on short notice

    Pros

    Good pay
    Some nice colleagues
    Nice venue

    Cons

    Dull job
    Incompetent management
    No innovation
The Montreal office has not developed anything significant since its acquisition a couple of years ago (was another company back then). Incompetent management; innovative individuals are despised. Do not go there if you are talented.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Shut down the Montreal office.

    Pros

Thanks to the absurdly long interview loop, you usually end up with a pretty good pool of talented coworkers. There are also some incredible gems in management. Great parties.

    Cons

Not a clear or obvious career path. Lack of documented process leaves too much room for decisions-on-a-whim from upper management. Due to industry-leader status, innovation can fall to the wayside in favor of an if-it-ain't-broke-don't-fix-it mentality.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Address morale issues immediately, as that's the more destructive than a fluctuating economy. Keep in mind that some business decisions have a huge impact on the group, and an employee is more likely to invest themselves if they feel informed of your your logic. Create an environment in which employees feel inspired and the rewards will come back 10-fold.
