I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Pleasant working environment where you will be given the opportunity to prove yourself and take initiatives. It is definitely a place where you can learn a lot as an intern. You will also be given a project that will have an impact at the company, which for me is really important.

    Cons

They are starting to move toward the new practices of the software industry, which means that a lot of employees still live in the waterfall and no-code-review world. These practices are not yet enforced, but they are spending the energy to make it happen.

I have been working at Ericsson-Worldwide

    Pros

    Great technical people
    Strong understanding of operator industry
    Vision of ICT world right
    Respected by customers

    Cons

Internal orientation that is perceived as arrogance by customers
Not sales oriented in new growth areas .. Radio success holding back change despite clear signals from top leadership

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Operator customers now need resolution to hard problems. Strong nngineering only processes need to be supplemented in non radio areas by flexible processes, GTM, business partnership models else full potential of company will be unrealized.

    Pros

Global opportunities, good compensation. Industry is fast moving.

    Cons

A very top-down driven company. It is not known for quick decision making. Compliant to the culture/practice is valued over performance.

I have been working at Ericsson-Worldwide as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Managers usually shield developers a bit from stresses like deadlines (at least in R & D)
    Friendly environment and nice people

    Cons

Feels very stagnant, and everything is overly bulky (too many layers of management)
    Low wages
    Not many perks

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lean up on the layers of management and let teams be more agile. Also increase compensation to competitive levels.

I was there as an intern, i did not get nothing from them, no word, they don't want to take people in charge, we have a contract to spend at least 50% of time there but they said they don't have enough space, its not professional

Former Employee - ITTE in Montreal, QC

I worked at Ericsson-Worldwide as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

The people you work with are very nice, they understand that you are a student and that you don't know everything yet. The workload is very reasonable and they offer a lot of activities besides work (for example, they have clubs, a gym, free massages, etc.)

    Cons

An an intern, I can't really think of any cons for doing an 8 month internship in Ericsson Montreal. The only thing I can say is that sometimes, some people in other departments can freak out when we are out of time for a project.

    Cons

The salary is not very competitive, and there is no big difference between good performer and poor performer. The company is not bold enough and fast enough to enter into new business area.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    1. Increase the salary gap between good performer and poor performer.
    2. Enter into new business area early and move fast.
