Once was good, but slowly declining

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Zynga as a contractor for more than a year

Pros1) Awesome perks: Free meals, coffee, beverages and snacks, and swag
2) Every day is bring your dog to work day
3) Connect and work with some amazing people
4) Create games and help them evolve

Cons1) Employee retention - losing a lot of talent due to either budget cuts/lay offs or just leaving in general due to environment.
2) Management doesn't seem to listen or care when it comes to great ideas or suggestions
3) Wasteful spending on certain things that led to office closings and layoffs including outsourcing
4) Community to player relations are at an all time low
5) Player retention is poor
6) Listening to advice/complaints is very poor

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on what the players want, that's what is driving your revenue. Take some time and listen to what community/players are saying and make sure the games run smooth. Tone down the cadence, as well as find a way to stick to a budget so you will not have to make "painful cuts"

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Very talented workers - but very poor management

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Zynga full-time for more than a year

Pros: I met some very talented, passionate folks that deeply cared about making good games. Get on the right team with the right manager… Cons: The management is poor. What leadership says to the company often doesn't reflect what actually happens. They don't know when to kill a… Advice to Senior Management: Empower more employees to make original games. They can, and want to. Little incubation groups. There was internal lip service about this… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
