Great people work there

I have been working at Yahoo full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Considering all the turmoil that Y! has been goring through in the last years, there are still very smart people working there. It is a very collaborative environment where things can get done quickly without much bureaucracy. The push to mobile first is the right direction and we work on the latest trends, and mobile customer needs

Cons

Lots of re-orgs and turn over (getting better)
Salaries should be more competitive (hopefully Marissa will fix this)

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep hiring good talent and staying focus on the most important Y! properties.

I have been working at Yahoo full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They have free food and snacks. The yahoo brand name still carries a lot of weight and their sites gets lots of eyeballs. You get to work with some really smart people.

    Cons

The management has been very weak for a long time so people are used to being unsupervised and going in their own direction.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get out of the computer business.

    I worked at Yahoo

    Pros

Initially, there were opportunities for growth in the Small Business Unit ....

    Cons

Was laid off after Yahoo failed to enter into an advantageous business relationship with Microsoft. Our entire class was hired in September 2009 and laid off three months later in December 2009.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Manage projections wisely.
