I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Walmart can be a challenging company to work for at times, but it's worth it. I've moved up from the bottom, and I'm still moving. You can definitely make a career out of it, if you just stick with it.

Cons

With any retail environment, the job can be trying at times.

I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay and good job security especially if you're good at it. Some of the managers can be very reasonable to work with. Most of the employees are nice even if they are a bit quiet (like myself). Funny moments! I saw a guy faceplant while trying to carry a case of beer to the register! (priceless) ^_^ and yes he was drunk.

    Cons

Customers! (kidding, but some will be crazy.) but they will ask you about things in areas you'll know nothing about because it's on the complete opposite side of the store. Some of the managers can be too agressive or too passive which means a lot of stress sometimes if you care about your job. Just like some of the managers being good to work for there are the bad apples and unfortunately they push more work off on the people who do their job correctly. There are also some lazy lower level employees that it can take years before they're found out so be prepared to work with them for a long time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please bring back the merit raises but limit them to only the store managers and limit the amount of time between them. Yearly raises feel low (up to 50 cents a year) and far between and are often done by managers who don't know how the employee works. Also the yearly reviews should be done by a manager the employee chooses so they don't have someone who dislikes them giving them a low yearly raise.
