I have been working at Walmart full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

3 days on, 3 days off rotation; ability to hire, fire, and develop own staff; freedom to do subordinate's scheduling; general freedom to run area you are over; and fairly easy to get in to the company

    Cons

Extremely high stress; lack of consistency; lack of accountability; inner politics dictate promotions; favoritism; if your pad-partner slacks, you have to work harder than necessary; not enough administrative time for evaluations, scheduling, coachings, and talent development

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect for the individual goes beyond hourly associates; the company will never have enough talent to fill its need if the management teams are not developed and not given the room needed to grow into other positions
