I have been working at Walmart full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

you get enough leeway to run the business your way, as long as you have integrity and do a good job there is minimal interference from corporate.

Cons

some of their latest policies and initiatives to capture new business and retain current customers leave a lot to be desired.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

allow us to give gift cards for transferred or new prescriptions.
cut down on the amount of paperwork given to patients with prescriptions. by my calculations, at the most conservative estimate if they would condense the patient handouts to 1 or 2 pages the company would save 30 million dollars, but this figure is probably 5 or 6 times that.

If at all possible, do not enter the management in training program or work inside the stores for this company.

I worked at Walmart part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The pay was okay, you can pretty much work as many hours as you want.

    Cons

Employees are not trained very well. In my case I was held accountable to customers for the actions of other employees (specifically, employees damaging customers cars or botching oil and tire jobs. For example, studs were broken off a woman's wheel and I was told to have her drive her unsafe vehicle somewhere else to get it fixed and oil caps were left off several times).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Come up with a better training device than CBLs--a monkey could click through those things!

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
