I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time (more than 3 years)

Pros

Great learning opportunities, flexible work culture, performance based growth. Aggressive growth plans (at least in India) provide multiple career options for people looking for varied experience.

Cons

Internal politics, silos and one-upmanship sometimes tend to act as roadblocks to even more aggressive growth. The organization is so large, you will always be a small fish in a BIG pond.

I have been working at UnitedHealth Group full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

    It's a job.
twenty words minimum that goes here is hard to fill up. it's a job. that's about it.

    Cons

management is incompetent for the most part. lots of talk, and little action. Company has acquired several smaller companies and there are problems with new management, culture, integration, and reciprocation. since acquisition, many job perks have been taken away, and the crappy year-end bonus did not even begin to make up for it.
Lots of loops and holes just to do regular daily tasks.
Various domains, various logins, unsupported technology.
Work computers can only contain "approved" software, which limits tech workers' abilities.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to the people who work for you. Care. Be flexible.
Do not destroy the culture that is already in place in satellite offices.
    Hire quality, not quantity.
There are some smart people that work in the company, so listen to them.
    Better yet, just fire yourselves.
Instead of having "morale" meetings, boost up morale by paying attention to individuals in the company.
