I have been working at United Airlines as an intern for less than a year

Pros- Great exposure to aircraft systems
- Internship is applicable to a broad range of engineering disciplines. (Aerospace concentration is not required)
-Ability to travel stand-by on any United flight for free or heavily discounted price for international flights.
-Work hours are flexible

Cons- Salary is not commensurate to the location of employment
- Not the best place if you are seeking heavily technical oriented internship (i.e.doing equations or design work)
-Mundane but necessary paperwork and somewhat antiquated processes
-Lack of employment opportunities

Airline sucks because management only pays lip service to running it

Pros: There must be one but I can't think of it Cons: Incompetent management who worry more about ways they can get more pay than how to operate an airline. Don't have enough front line employees… Advice to Senior Management: Cut your ranks in half. To much overhead and to much incompetence. … No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
