  1. My experience at usace has been ok. Most civilian leaders lack leadership abilities.

I have been working at US Army Corps of Engineers full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

People are friendly. Good pay. There is a lot of travel. Not a lot of challenging positions.

    Cons

Civilian leadership is weak at best. The senior civilian are technicians, They arent leaders. They promote you to a gs 14 or 15 based on technical abilities, not your ability to lead or manage.

    Advice to Management

Train your people. Develop them to lead at the lower levels. Leadership is a learned skill, your not born with it.

  2. My experience in Corps of Engineer was grateful
