Probably what you would expect from a summer job

I worked at Staples part-time (less than a year)

Pros

Get to work closely with some of your co-workers, who I got along well with so I enjoyed the
camaraderie
The managers were generally helpful if you had any clarifications needed

Cons

Deliberately tried to avoid giving OT even during busy periods, which would lead to work getting piled up causing for some odd (EARLY) hours in order to work when the customers weren't in the store
Had to wear multiple hats at once sometimes when people would not show up or call in sick

    Pros

    I had some great coworkers who helped improve the atmosphere.
    There was a friendly assistant manager but he was transferred.

    Cons

    Low pay.
    Frequently Angry Customers.
    (Actually had a guy throw a printer at the employees)
    We never has enough staff on the floor, which left us no time to sell protection plans.
    Then we were told that to get more hours and have staff on the floor to sell more plans.
    The protection plans are horrible wastes of money.
    I had multiple managers encourage me to lie to sell plans.
    One manager told me to tell customers to get the plan and then lie so they could get their money back.
    We didn't get slammed early Black Friday, so they sent half of us home early and then we got slammed.
    They would not call anyone back once we got slammed.
    We didn't sell as much as we expected to on black Friday, so the managers took it out on us.

    Corporate needs to save what it can and clean out the rest of the store out.
