    Pros

Unlimited earning possibility if you have a large and strong network of working professionals.
Allows a lot of flexibility for you to work on your own schedule.

    Cons

Lack of training on the products and services provided by the company.
An expectation to bring in sales from your personal network prior to being provided training on the product.
Business ethics are undermined in order to pursue sales.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

In order to build a strong sales team, they need to be provided thorough knowledge of the product before they are pressured to pursue prospects. A sales agent is simply burning turf if they seek their prospects without having a good understanding of the product/service they're providing, as they would seem incompetent and lack confidence while pursuing a sale.

Former Employee - Director, Agency Development in Greenville, SC (US)

    Pros

RBC is a strong company financially. Generally, the people in the Greenville office are terrific to work with. The home office is in a beautiful facility, and benefits are good.

    Cons

The parent company is not committed to growth of the insurance company in the United States. The U.S. home office has been troubled by weak leadership at the top and within the distribution channels..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The U.S. operation has some terrific talent, but you need to get the right leaders on the bus, and get the wrong leaders off!
