I have been working at Polo Ralph Lauren

Pros

Mainly the people as its a young workforce in Geneva. Work/Social life is balanced if you wish it. Benefits include discounts on clothes, travel and lunch subsidy.

Cons

Management in ALL areas e.g. HR, Supply Chain, IT, etc are incompetant and only look at their bonus. Progress is only provided if you're willing to be obedient to your managers every command and perform a 12 hour day. Performance reviews and appraisals are not worth the Apple ipad they are written on by Directors and there is little or no training. All Directors are equivalent to Team Leaders in other companies and their lack of experience and people management are evident within the first week. As no formal qualifications are required for any roles, Directors are intellectually weak and only stay at the company for the bonus.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look further than your bonus and reward staff who actually do their job between the working hours of 9-6pm. Any one who need 12 hours per day is obviously incompetant. Act more professional and stop employing people through your own family tree who are unqualified to perform the task but on higher wages than people who have been there for 5 years.

I worked at Polo Ralph Lauren

    Pros

Discounts; free samples-sometimes; people-when they are not overworked/tired, they are nice.

    Cons

Mangers give their work to associates, very little pay for associates, no room for growth-the position you get hired for will remain your position and pay until you leave. On my exit interview HR told me they didn't care if I "wanted to skip across the street for $5...they have a line of people waiting to work for them." They make you feel walked all over-extremely long hours.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your associates and mangers are keeping your company afloat-show them some respect.

A part time gig that paid poorly and did not receive a lot of hours, but the management was great.
