Pros

Constant drive to improve quality and efficiency; industry-leading emphasis on ethics and standards; great training opportunities; flexible work schedules and work locations depending on the specific job.

Cons

Can't think of any - I'm sure other parts of the company have issues that my sector doesn't.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time

    Pros

Good benefits; lots of opportunities to work on pretty cool stuff that benefits the US military (and others)! If you're willing to relocate, NG has lots of opportunities across the company, and seems to do a good job of enabling employees to move to a new job/place.

    Cons

    - As a defense contractor, NG follows the highs and lows of defense work -- right now defense is shrinking, as seen by lots of defense contractors (Lockheed Martin, NG, Raytheon, etc.) having layoffs.
    - If you want to work on cool commercial stuff, a defense contractor isn't the place.
    - For software developers, not a lot of decent process in place across the company, nor decent training company-wide for developers.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Big company benefits, opportunties, word-class products and services, geographically dispersed, teleworking opportunities, long-term career options, and very professional culture.

    Cons

Constant reorganzation, impacted by federal spending, sometimes works like small companies within one big company, sometimes not seen as an individual.
