I have been working at Neiman Marcus full-time for more than a year

Pros

Great discounts, Company iPhone , great discounts

Cons

Too many associates not enough customers, rediculous return policies( might as well give them the merchandise) no set schedule, older employees are jaded and judge every customer, way too much gossiping on all of the sales floors makes you so sick, If you don't make your goal even once they threaten to fire you,not the company it used to be.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get rid of all your TOXIC, negative, jealous associates and you'll have the customer service levels alot higher.

I have been working at Neiman Marcus full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The Money is good as long as you are willing to work for it. The customers are really awesome. The also give you a work iphone if you are a full time sales associate or if you are an executive which helps keep in contact with you customers and send them pictures of the products you wish to sell them.

    Cons

Neiman Marcus requires you to stay in your current position for a year before you can be considered to apply for another position within. Managers are now hired through the EDP program, and most of them never desired to be a manager in the first place but they are required to be a manager for at least 2 years before going back to the buying office.

I have been working at Neiman Marcus full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    Amazing Discount, Great vendor Relationships

    Cons

Terrible management, No lateral movement or promotion from within, Awful commission only compensation were only about 2% of the employees make descent salaries (the 2% HR tells you about when they're interviewing)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Encourage and develop the talented and extremely knowledgeable associates, stop looking outside of your own talent pool whenever a management role becomes available. Take a note from Nordstrom and realize that if you want to keep talented individuals a dead end, thankless sales job is not the way to do it
